How did the kid from Ohio State get left out?

There can be only ten.

Jeff- I think the award is for the best jr. or sr. running back.

After I posted, I actually read the article and see that McFadden won the award last year as a soph. I stand corrected. Perhaps the committee nixed the OSU running back due to a requirement that he not play for a team supported by douchebags, but McFadden ruins that theory too.

Hypothetical: The Denver Broncos draft Jamaal Charles. How many millions of yards does he rush for, in the first half of his rookie season?

I don’t think you could create in a lab a better running back for the Broncos.

McFadden should win it again, but I’d be OK with Kevin Smith. Something tells me Matt Forte is not going to win.

I don’t remember Melton scoring against OU.

I would think that freshmens or not, Knowshon Moreno probably belongs on the list. Stone cold stud. And bonus points to his candidacy for game prepping for Florida by pounding beers & counter dancing while Stafford autographs & licks chicks bellies at an apartment bash.

You do that & rush for 198 yards in the Cocktail Party as a frosh, you’re on the fast track to “I’m Keith Hernandez” status.

Milkman, I think that’s Gerald Crawford.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see what Charles can do when he gets to play for a real coach.

Chris wells from ohio state was left off the list because he can’t seem to get over a 2 year old ankle injury, im over the injury the fans are over it and he should get over it as well. I think he would be on it but not the winner had he been healthy. also, i think the kid from houston is tough had he played for a more high profile team he might win.

Kevin Smith’s stats leave the rest of the pack in the dust and he doesn’t even get named as a finalist? I guess they must have changed the award criteria to the “second” best running back in the nation.
