Leach Quote of the Week
On his decision (s) to go for it on 4th and short inside Tech's own 30, twice:
"I thought my gambles were stupid. I guess being here in Reno I really just got that bug. I have been stuck in a hotel where there are no clocks, and they are just pumping oxygen in to it, and the place is like a maze. I guess I thought today was going to be my lucky day."

a nice way to cover up his astonishment that the reno boys held his offense for 3 consecutive plays

What an anti-political statement. He truly does not give a shit.
No wonder his players play so hard for him. He even calls out himself.

He would do it again in a heartbeat. Who does he think he’s fooling?

how much money would it take to hire Leach as our OC? He’s pure gold.

McCombs, Moffett, Jamail et al don’t have enough money to entice Leach into answering to Meddling Mack.

i love him. i wish our politicians and sometimes our coaches would just pony up and admit when they are wrong. there’s nothing wrong with making a mistake if you are willing to accept it and do something to correct it. unless you do, then you are destined to fuck up again.

Here’s a story I had never read about Leach that I ran across on the Red Raider internets. It’s too good not to share:
“Funny story about him (SMU LB Alex Odiari, who originally signed with OSU out of high school) during the recruiting process. He chose to have some fun with several schools through his recruitment and strung several along including Texas Tech. So, when Mike Leach was able to get out on the road that December and January one of his stops was to Lewisville Hebron to see Steven Harris. Leach sees Odiari in the hall and stops to visit with him and tells him he wants him as a quarterback and that he’d change the way offense was played, etc. … Odiari bought the whole thing and then wondered why Leach never called him back after that.”
