Venables? I realize he’s not the hot commodity he once was, and I suspect so does he. Stoops’s offensive coaches have moved on nicely (Leach, Mangino, Sumlin) while his DC’s have had a bit tougher road (Stoops, Pellini)—but have still made progress over their immediate predecessors.

How far have you fallen when you wish Mangino was your own head coach??

by Orangechipper on Nov 5, 2008 1:56 PM CST reply actions

Gary Patterson anyone?

by Mister Mike on Nov 5, 2008 1:59 PM CST reply actions

Mike Stoops? Head back to K-State face your brother in 2yr blocks

by Kansas Horn on Nov 5, 2008 2:11 PM CST reply actions

Beats the option of having him go back to OU as Assistant Head Coach/DC…. That could be scary

by Kansas Horn on Nov 5, 2008 2:14 PM CST reply actions

I’m sure they’ll make another unsuccesful run at Leavitt.

Is KSU really a program that is going to force out a coach after 2.5 years?

Some fucked expectations there.

by scally on Nov 5, 2008 2:20 PM CST reply actions

KC radio host who is a KSU grad said his sources close to the program have said Snyder wants the job again.

by Euclid Pi on Nov 5, 2008 2:28 PM CST reply actions

I thought Snyder was at the same place as Ted William’s head…. He’s old as dirt. They better start thawing him out if he really wants the job.

by Kansas Horn on Nov 5, 2008 2:32 PM CST reply actions

They should hire Brent Vena…bwahahahaha!!!

by HenryJames on Nov 5, 2008 2:46 PM CST reply actions

Im sure their list is

1)Leavitt
2)Venables
3)Everyone else.

The end of Prince’s puple reign? This IS news!

As K-State’s sinking into oblivion speeds up, Baylor and Iowa State move one step up on the Big 12 food chain.

by srr50 on Nov 5, 2008 3:09 PM CST reply actions

If Arizona bottoms out, Bobby and Mikey many soon reunite as Stoops gives Venables the Chizik treatment.

by Scipio Tex on Nov 5, 2008 3:11 PM CST reply actions

Word is, they want Patterson. Good luck.

Word also is, they do not want Venebles.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Snyder snap out of his hypnosis and take the job again.

Fran: beat us two years in a row and lose your job.
Prince: beat us two years in a row and lose your job.
Moral: don’t.

I haven’t been this disappointed since Neuheisel left Colorado. Coaches that combine massive ego with utter incompetence are hard to find let alone keep around for a few years.

Add to the mix annoying personalities that make you savor the pounding of their useless teams instead of making the remote or the score ticker your primary focus & their true value takes shape. Ron, you will be missed – buffonery such as yours will be tough to replace for this fan.

BTW, when you run off 8 assistants and 35 players in such a short time, it really does make it harder on local law enforcement to find the multiple perps who continually have you stomping out burning bags of shit on your front porch.

Everyone but Texas sends their condolences. (Yes, even Baylor worked you.)
