Tech player busted by Feds
Tech defensive back De'Shon Sanders got arrested early this morning by the DEA for dealing cocaine. He's been charged with 'conspiracy and felony possession with intent to distribute in excess of 50 grams of cocaine.' BC's resident drug expert Trips Right says more than 50 grams is "a gentleman's amount." Whatever that means.
The indictment obtained by the Dallas Morning News says Sanders did "unlawfully, knowingly and intentionally combine, conspire, confederate and agree with other persons whose names are known and unknown to the grand jury to commit" the offenses. Typically being a confederate isn't a crime in Texas.
The most interesting aspect of the story is that Sanders' roomates are fellow Tech players Michael Crabtree and Brandon Sesay. We've managed to obtain surveillance footage of the apartment from the DEA that was used as evidence in the indictment.

You haven’t “arrived” as a program until you get busted with a little yeyo. Onward and upward, Techies.

I’m sure Crabtree had absolutely no idea that his roommate was a drug dealer. It’s safe to say a rather large one at that being that the DEA is involved.

Curtis Brown, don’t feel so bad, nobody could have tackled Crabtree that night. Well, maybe LT. Or Doc Gooden.

I think we should eliminate from the three-way tie any program that’s had a player arrested for selling blow during the season. Those graduation rates don’t look so good now, eh?

This makes no sense.
Why would anyone in Lubbock need to make recourse to a dangerous and addictive recreational drug?

This De’Shon Sanders nonsense doesn’t get Tech anywhere close to getting posted on the Fulmer Cup…

DMN reports that the incident occurred in New Mexico over the summer, that he had nothing on him and nothing at his apartment. Some of the other quotes in the article indicate a grand jury trial has already been held. Sounds like he is being extradited.
Crabtree is clean and claims to be returning next year.

Excuse me, did you say “blow”? Um, perhaps I could check that out and let you know what I turn up.

“DMN reports that the incident occurred in New Mexico”
That explains the Lubbock angle.

NM99—
I will shit a golden byron hanspard report card and light my ass hair on fire if Michael Crabtree returns for the 2009 season. It is buffoonery to even type it as a consideration, irrespective of what he’s telling friends of friends who are close to the program, etc, etc.

I agree. It would be crazy. He was quoted in a report on rivals.com saying he was returning. I don’t get it.

But seeing you light your ass hair on fire might be more incentive for him to stay.

Anyone else getting the add for Cocaine Defense Lawyer on the right hand side of the screen now?
I bet this site is blocked at work tomorrow.

Everyone says that right now.

I know a guy, who is a friend of a friend, who works as a pilot there and he said they thought it was a Texas fan and the receipt was signed with the initials “CTJ”.

Ag in TX, we like to party just like we play football. Hard.

It was a bit of a joke. The preponderance of hot chicks mandates a plentiful supply of nose candy to keep them in check.
