Will Muschamp Will Not Be The Next Coach at Auburn
Mr. College Football says so, and that’s good enough for me.

The Statesman denies it as well.
Funny thing, though. Muschamp is in Austin today, and we know of at least one appointment that he has in his UT office this morning. We spoke to someone close to Muschamp this morning, and he said there is no truth to the Auburn report. In fact, he described Muschamp as angry about it and said the coach has been working the phones to talk with Longhorn recruits to assure them that he’s staying put at Texas, where he has been promised the head coaching job whenever Mack Brown decides to step down.

ESPN ran the goofy Fox story on the Sportcenter loops that play through the night. Shame there’s no consequence to news outlets when they so badly miss a story.

Muschamp issued a statement.
“I have not interviewed for any jobs. I’m not interested in any jobs. I’m happy here, my family loves Austin and I’m going to be at Texas.”

Every report of him leaving can be tracked back to that one Mobile report. Lazy journalism at it’s finest.
On a completely unrelated note, I am reporting that Hollywood Pete is leaving USC to coach pop warner ball in North Dakota.
