Sucks to be (y)OU
Looks like Oklahoma will be without both Demarco Murray and Demarcus Granger for the BCS title game. That'll leave a Demark.

I don't consider Murray much of a loss. It's like taking Reggie Bush away from the New Orleans Saints. He'll make a few big plays, but against anyone decent he tends to disappear.
Granger hasn't been healthy all year, but he did provide depth at the defensive tackle spot.
Bob Stoops will downplay their significance. Unless of course OU gets rolled. Then he'll complain to anyone who will listen that they lost because they didn't have both players.

The Bullet-headed Churl doesn’t make excuses. However, any reasonable observer could tell that losing Ryan Reynolds was the turning point of the RRS. And that was a horrible pass interference call in 2005. And I’m not saying Bomar cost the game; he’s just very young and he’ll get better. And he’s really proud of how Thompson struggled to be competitive at QB despite training at WR the prior spring…
Has anybody else noticed how much Stoops is beginning to resemble Brian Doyle-Murray?

I don’t see it, myself.
But I once won an Emmy for a role after John Blake had already done the acting.

Could this possibly be a result of keeping starters in longer than necessary?
kinda like karma?

Murray was hurt on the opening kickoff of the game against Mizzou, so no.

When did Stoops make excuses? Your last line is bullshit

Stoops whines and cries like a little pussy after every play that doesn’t go his way. The only coach in the world that whines and cries as much as Bobby is that Polish guy at Duke. It is pathetic. Funny thing is that neither one of them can win a big game to save their life the last 5 years. They pout and bitch and complain and then curl up in the fetal position when a good team kicks dirt in their face. That’s karma, bitches.

I was a horrible player until the Polish guy at Duke coached me in China………….. Now look at me!!

If you are calling about the polling problem in the Norman area, we would like to inform you that we are aware of the problem, and our repair men are working diligently to rectify the problem as we speak. For all other calls, press two.

I forgot about that. I guess that qualifies. Not sure that I couldn’t have coached that team to a gold, but we have managed to not win it lately. My apologies Coach Kryazkdfoadflakjdck;lzewski.

If I could choose only one guy to play for, you know, actually make an impact in a game with, it would be that Polish guy from Duke.

Pretty sweet when you win the Big 12 CCG so many times that it’s no longer considered a “big game.”

Against Mizzou, that is too long.

For a coach nicknamed “Big Game Bob” who has lost every big bowl game he has lost in recent memory (including 2 MNC games in the last 5 years), perhaps the Big 12 CCG is THE big game.
by Horn in Tyler on Dec 17, 2008 10:11 PM CST reply actions
I just realized that I put a redundant “lost” in that last comment, but, in the context of Stoops and bowl games, you there is no redundancy to “lost.” Lost lost lost.

maybe they can get people to vote these players healthy or something…

My grandmother’s mute amputee lesbian aunt’s synchronized swimming team could beat what the Big 12 North has dished-up in the last few years. That game has been about as big as Stoops’ stubbie. But that’s ok. Since everything is relative, it probably has been a “big game” to OU.

Aren’t Holmes and Loadholt out for academic reasons also?
by Horncasting on Dec 18, 2008 11:48 AM CST reply actions
I’m sure that rumor couldn’t be true. Stoops’ argument for why OU should be voted above Texas was that the Sooners were playing better, and would be the best team in the BCS CG. If he knew he would be losing three starters and a key sub (grade issues would have been known by December 6), he couldn’t make that argument, right?

How come no one on this board is talking about our upcoming game? Texas vs Ohio St.?
Oh that’s right it’s a meaningless game and no one gives a shit

Great site. I was looking for a site that discusses all OU football, all the time, and read that this site is dedicated to OU football. Thanks for the read, but what’s with all the light orange coloring? Kinda looks like OSU colors.

Well you’ve got to cater to your audience, collegefan. Haven’t you’ve noticed all the sooners on this board? Which is kind of weird since they can’t really talk smack and you’d think, giving that talking shit is about all they do when they’re not fucking their relatives, that they’d stay away. My best guess is that they’re feeling guilty as they know they’re playing in a game they don’t belong in.
Oh and ponderos, how does it feel to know that Mack Brown has Bob Stoops’ number? How does it feel to know that as long as Mack is here (and Muschamp) ou’s victories will be abberations of the norm? My guess is feels….about normal. I mean after a 100 years of getting your ass kicked you must be used to it by now.

How does it feel to know that it will take another half decade for mack and mushmouth to try to equal the amount of big 12 championships stoops has won. Mack Brown has a losing record against Bob Stoops yet he “owns” him – absolutely effing delusional
by Colored glasses on Dec 19, 2008 3:34 PM CST reply actions
I’d say winning three out of the last four (and the one we lost certainly felt on this side like you guys were damn lucky to come away with that one) counts as owning to me. Especially after beating your hype machine this year. Your team and whiney coach might have fooled the pollsters but you didn’t fool us. Or the scoreboard. Enjoy the game we’re suppose to be in.
