Northwestern Dwarf Toss
Yeah, I know Mizzou won, but...

Final statline: 27 of 44 for 200 yards and 3 ints.
You owe Weatherspoon a beer, Chase.
Congrats to the Tigers.

Has ESPN stopped showing his family in the stands yet?

I like the shot they had of his mother after that last TD, when he almost dropped the ball. You very clearly saw her say, “Oh shit!”

Chase Daniel showed up in a big game yet again with nothing but his BIF and a booger-flavored sack of suck.
The only reason Missouri won this steaming pile of a game was because they were playing a Big 10 team. If they were playing any team with actual talent, this game would have been over at halftime. Instead, they played one of the plodding squads of gluttons from the Midwest and I guess the Big 12 looks better for it.
I can’t think of anyone who received more hype for doing nothing but clubbing baby seals than this guy. He failed against Texas, he failed last year and this year against the sooners, and he failed again tonight. I look forward to never seeing him again, unless boogereating becomes a televised sport.
At least that fat douche has a future in Lance Berkman lookalike contests. Enjoy suburban Dallas and copier sales, you choking slob.
If the rest of the Big 12 teams show up like this, we might as well light the cigarette now and move on to basketball.

were both of those chicks his sisters? I’d like to romance them both.

Badly out-prepared, badly out-played, no heart, but won. Lucky, very lucky, and Booger had nothing to do with it.
Big XII 1-0

Funny stuff CTJ but I’ve got to admit I’m at a loss with BIF. Acronymfinger.com gave me some interesting options such as bisexual female, borderline intellectual functioning and my favorite, butt in front.

Lots of hate for Mizzou, huh? Isn’t it already kind of established that Chase ain’t all that he was billed to be? What the hell did he ever do to you guys besides do you a favor by not going to your school?
by Eric on Dec 30, 2008 8:27 AM CST reply actions
Very happy to have won. Spoon is awesome – lord I hope he comes back. As we’ve said at AT a few time this year, most of us are looking forward to the post-Chase Daniel era even while recognizing that Chase Daniel, for the most part, has done a lot for the program.
by Phenomenal Smith on Dec 30, 2008 8:37 AM CST reply actions
Nothing. We’re calling a shitty performance a shitty performance. It isn’t his first and that’s being noted as well. The guy did plenty of nice things for your program and so I understand your sensitivity towards criticism of the guy but in this case it isn’t unwarranted.

Act like a douchebag and get his shit pushed in every time he plays a team with a pulse.

BIF, FUPA, Gunt – these are all accurate synonyms for the recent run of unkempt fat lower frontsides in college football, from Farley Weis to Booger Daniel to 700 pounds of Mangino.

That’s a little bit more than saying he sucked last night (which he did. . . hard).
by Eric on Dec 30, 2008 11:24 AM CST reply actions
I don’t spend much time thinking about Chase Daniel, but when I do, I think of a guy that failed to show up against OU in 4 different games. That is rant worthy, especially on top of his whining about Texas not loving him more than we did during his recruitment. I didn’t really ponder random Missouri fan “Eric” and his heartbreak over it, or perhaps I would have softened it. But probably not. In all honesty, I hope the guy sells a lot of copiers.
by CloseToJumping on Dec 30, 2008 11:30 AM CST reply actions
I’m actually glad Mizzou has moved from the “guys named Chase” era to the “guys named Blaine” era. I’m not heartbroken or mad. I was just puzzled by the literal hate for Chase Daniel, that’s all.
by Eric on Dec 30, 2008 11:46 AM CST reply actions
Chase Daniel is a player just good enough to elevate a program, but just bad enough to be its anchor in big games. The post-Daniel era will be fascinating. I really want to see Gabbert do his thing.
I still detest everything about Derrick Washington as a runner. He is sniffing glue.
by Scipio Tex on Dec 30, 2008 12:33 PM CST reply actions
Well, we’re all crossing our fingers on Ronnie Wingo.
I’m just not sure why you guys are taking the time to hate Chase Daniel. He’s a slightly better than adequate QB on a team just adequate enough to win the Big XII North. Shouldn’t you have bigger and better things to hate?
by Eric on Dec 30, 2008 12:37 PM CST reply actions
Eric, we are sick of arguing with intellectually inferior sooners. hence we direct the hate towards pizza boy;with him being best pals with warren buffet and all.
by 98 on Dec 30, 2008 12:43 PM CST reply actions
Hate implies an emotional investment that just isn’t there. Read many CTJ posts and you’ll understand that he doesn’t dither, equivocate or mince. Ever.
by Minnesotahorn on Dec 30, 2008 12:46 PM CST reply actions
Random factoid – this was the first game Missouri won in the Chase Daniel era when it was trailing in the fourth quarter.
40 years from now he can sit down with Bobby Reid and Stephen McGee and talk about how maybe being Texas’ second choice at QB wouldn’t have been so bad after all.
by Horncasting on Dec 30, 2008 1:14 PM CST reply actions
“I’m just not sure why you guys are taking the time to hate Chase Daniel.”
Whining.
Calling out teammates on the field when losing.
Linebeards.
Booger eating.
Enjoying contact as much as a banker.
Sorta kinda mohawk.
White guy with skullie (by itself, not so bad, but in conjunction with all else…)
More whining.
Inbred hatred by rest of humanity for all creatures with 1/2 arms & legs attached to keg body.
Believing self target for imaginary 30 yard snot rockets.
Christ, the fucking whining.
That intangible aura of douche.
Late hit & bitchy helmet slap after yet another INT.
No one over the age of 11 with interest in opposite sex likes hobbits. Sorry.

What I dislike about Chase Daniel is purely on the aesthetic side, and can be summed up in one of his signature gestures:
When he hides the football behind his back, it’s done with all the humilty of a fat boy taunting the neighborhood with a stolen ice-cream cone.
Word has it that even the referees want to sack him for his insolence.
by Parlin Hall on Dec 30, 2008 4:22 PM CST reply actions
I’d give him more of a break if he didn’t wear his baseball cap backwards.

Hey, doesn’t everyone lay a towel down on the ground so they can get a better view of the last play of their college career on to leap up and throw himself into the arms of one of his offensive linemen?

I’m really going to miss the guy. He was the lynchpin in an NCAA D1 QB Triad of Douche (Daniel, Tebow, Clausen) that may never be rivaled again in my lifetime.
You can only love your own team so much. It’s the unbridled hatred and mockery for the Ron Prince’s, Notre Dames & Colorado student bodies of the world (everyone has their own) that make the college game special.

Scip, I hear what you are saying about Washington. He never looks to be trying all that hard. But after four years of watching Temple whirling dervish his way out of bounds for 4 yard losses, Washington’s willingness to cut up field and not lose yards is welcome, no matter the substance abuse. Hi, we’re Missouri fans, and not losing yards is a win for us!
I appreciate Chase Daniel and what he has done for Missouri football, I really do. But he does exhibit many signs of being an Insufferable Rich Prick. Although, his teammates seem to like him, so who knows. I’m ready for the Blaine Era. We need to stop recruiting quarterbacks from the Young Republicans Leadership Council. Christ.
I have some hope that Chase Daniel ends up being our Texas recruiter and QB coach, although the 2nd half of this season certainly diminished my enthusiasm for such. I have to think his braggadocio, big belly, love of fatty foods and nose picking would play well in your state. Those seem to be pretty mainstream attributes.

Sorry, Graham, blandness, bad sweaters & receiving more than the target with the talent aren’t enough to move you into the hall. Show up for the bowl game in a stretch limo with frosted tips like Douche Clausen did on signing day and I MIGHT reconsider.

Phenomenal or Gene:
On the radio here in the KC area, they have been throwing out that Daniel hurt his throwing arm during the OSU game. They didn’t want to come out and say it b/c it could effect gameplanning against them….. Have you heard anything like this or what do you know about it?
by Kansas Horn on Dec 31, 2008 12:21 PM CST reply actions
Kansas Horn, I had not heard that, but it would make sense. He had some strange compression sleeve on the first couple NW series. I thought it was to encourage him to wipe his nose there instead of his preferred pick-and-eat approach.
Seriously, this would explain quite a bit. We’ll do some research and throw something up over at AT if there is something to discuss. Thanks for the heads up.

No prob Gene… They were saying thats why he hadn’t thrown downfield very much this season, or very well since the Oklahoma St game. He didn’t look too hot downfield for sure against Northwestern. Couldn’t tell you about many of the other games this season b/c I wasn’t really paying attention to it.
