Les Miles is smarter than he looks

He hired Ed Orgeron as his defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator.

This comes on the heels of his hiring of former Tennessee defensive coordinator John Chavis for the same position at LSU.

I’ve often wondered the degree of gnashing toward this guy. Yeah, he’s a flake in some ways, but before this one season’s drop, it’s a tall task to bust on his results. Part of it’s my appreciation of him taking out the sooners a couple of times during a period we couldn’t even compete against them head-to-head.

Ed Orgeron recruiting East Texas is the stuff of Aggie nightmares (and serious Longhorn inconvenience). If they aim him at H-town, I may lose some sleep tonight.

This isnt good for any Texas team, including UT. In related news, Red Bull stock has climbed significantly after news of the hire

Meat Market is a fun book.

I would assume that Orgeron will be pointed east, not west. I guess we’ll see, but his forte is Louisiana up through Georgia. Literally, all of the SEC states.

This is more damaging to OU, Bama, Florida, and Georgia than it is to us, although I am sure it will annoy us at various points. It further puts Tennessee in the backseat.

You guys like Chavis as a DC? I like him fine.

It sounds like Orgeron backed out and is now headed to Tennessee, which is a great pickup for them. I guess it helps Tennessee climb out of the backseat and makes things better for us.

Orgeron and Monte Kiffin might wreck some shit in the SEC.

Tell ’em about it, Jo-Jo.
