Foetid Sundries
kevwun asked for a thread on the Coach Cal Memphis situation.
I'll just put this up as a placeholder until Trips has a chance to opine, though I suspect he's just going to say don't go inside the abattoir.
We've talked before about the NCAA. Spencer has a great post up here. Coroners not sheriffs. Nice.
In other news the Fulmer Cup is kicking again and Billy Clyde is suing Kentucky for Breach of Contract Memorandum.

It’s great reading Kentucky fans defending Calipari. They sound exactly like Memphis fans used to. They’re right, he’s never been found guilty of anything by the NCAA. They also probably won’t find him guilty of any wrong doing when Kentucky goes on probation in a few years. By then I imagine it will be the NBA or retirement for good ole Saint Cal.

I believe it was a vacant house and he didn’t steal anything.

It’s a misdemeanor when Cedric Benson does it in Austin.

No, that’s just how a badass opens a door.

Seeing as how there is no such crime in Texas, I think Mr. Benson is correct.

Apparently so is kidnapping and threatening your girlfriend with a screwdriver

I honestly feel that if a guy can play, misbehavior should be downplayed. I mean a lot of these kids never had anything.

Barry, you have a good point there. Damnit, just because a kid loses his cool one night and almost kills someone doesn’t mean he shouldn’t play a little football.
Hell, they even let prisoners play football. What’s the difference behind bars or at GayLord field?

Speaking of Calipari, it looks like Jodie Meeks is returning along with Patrick Patterson. Throw UK’s freshmen into the mix and you’re looking at a possible Final 4 team.

3 vacated final four appearances has to be a record.

ATHENS, Ga. — Former University of Memphis forward Robert Dozier’s initial SAT score was invalidated by the company that scores the exam, and when he took the test a second time, he scored 540 fewer points, ESPN.com has learned through an open records request.

Damn. He had to have made a pretty dismal score for UGA to deny him admission.
