Around SBN: Trent Richardson Interviews Fellow Brown Brandon Weeden

Depth chart for Texas Longhorns vs. UTEP Miners

Big changes!

Tre Newton is now listed as the starter at running back. Duh.

Curtis Brown is starting over Chykie Brown (no relation) at right corner. The 'or' has been removed.

And we have three starters at right safety. Blake Gideon or Nolan Brewster or Kenny Vaccaro. Brewster was in for Gideon at the end of the game Saturday, and Vaccaro has been kicking ass both on and off the field.

And Brown just announced that Jared Norton is out for the year.

If you remember during bowl practices last year, all everybody was talking about was how well tre newton was playing, and dj grant too, but he had TE next to his name, and we know what happens with that… I think thats why they refuse to put buckner as TE on the depth charts and leave him as flex and let greg “hands” smith carry that title. I still think that chykie can be really good, but it does seem that every big play we have given up has been him getting toasted , aaron williams is the closest thing to shut down we have.

travis, hey now – Mr. “EBS” Smith had a beautiful 3 yard reception on Saturday. That’s one yard short of breaking his PR from last season.

Big things coming from Big Greg.

At the beginning of Tech’s last TD drive, my buddy and I noticed Gideon coming to the sideline with his arm hanging down straight and Brewster was sent in. I think it was the third play of Tech’s drive. He was making a tackle on the UT side and hurt something. I didn’t see him in the game again.

Too bad for Norton, he can go the medical RS route can’t he? Hopefully we aren’t going to have to pull Tariq Allens shirt because of this.

Emmanuel Acho and Keenan Robinson are backing each other up.

“’m at the corner of first, and first. Wait a minute. How can the same street intersect with itself? I must be at the center of the universe!”

According to the Statesman, Gideon “tweaked” his shoulder against Tech.

I like that Aaron Williams is starting at two positions. I vote that he starts at the other cornerback position as well.

Another change is that Chiles is now the starter at the “sub b” WR. Malcolm is now 2nd team at that position (instead of "OR"ed with Chiles at 1st team).

Chiles earned his spot for sure. Wish Williams did not have stone hands though.

I love all these vague references to Vacarro’s off-field activities.

So is Vacarro going to the Dronett school of charm, or is there another joke I’m missing?

“aaron williams is the closest thing to shut down we have.”

AJ Williams is the closest thing to a shut down corner there is…

I guess that did come out negative.. I meant that with the total respect for aaron… he is my favorite player in the secondary, to me its a matter of when not if he gets a thorpe award .. I came away from the game very pleased, now of course Im a homer, but i just look at this team like there is sooo much potential, and that they have alot of room for error where as last years team couldnt make mistakes, I think this defense is going to be dominant when it comes down to our big games, and colt will be fine when games are on the line..
