Mangino resigns
The AD told the players at a meeting last night, and at least one player was, for lack of a better word, sad.
"There's definitely a little sadness in it," Kansas defensive back Justin Thornton said.
"When I get old and I'm telling stories about my KU football career, I'm going to be telling stories about Mangino, and Mangino is going to be a big part of my KU experience."

"Always like to keep my audience riveted."
Names being mentioned to replace Mangino include Charlie Weis, William Conrad and the former planet Pluto.
(And some other dudes mentioned by Oread Boom Kings.)

So a settlement was reached. Interesting. I would have thought Perkins would relish firing him with cause, and paying him with a hearty “Get lost asshole.”
Question, was this thing dying down before the story of the NT with the burned hand?

It was not. And I believe Mangino made out handsomely.

‘and paying him with a hearty "Get lost asshole."’
Grammatically, such a send-off could have a double meaning for Mangino.

Lew Perkins was the AD at Wichita State when football was cancelled. How many ADs can list that they shit canned 2 football programs during their tenure much less 2 from the same state?

Funny how a raging asshole turns into a colorful character when seen in a rearview mirror.

When Mangino sits around the house he really … . Mangino is fat.

Is Mangino capable of giving HIMSELF a reach-around? Or does he lube up one of those little hand back scratchers and go to town?

Ah well, Kansas, it was fun having ya’ll as a two sport school while it lasted.

Coaching turmoil, Reesing graduating. Good time for Briscoe to get the fuck out of town:

Some how, AD Perkins just made a 5-7 team exponentially worse. Look for the KU football program to be shut down by Perkins within the next 2 years.

On the bright side, KU can easily fund the new coach’s salary with the savings on pregame meals and catering for coaches’ meetings alone. Cha-ching.
