Open Thread: Holiday Bowl - Ndamukong Suh vs. Arizona Wildcats
As Texas fans we witnessed a game that probably single-handedly cost Colt McCoy the Heisman while simultaneously elevating Ndamukong Suh into Heisman contention and ultimately allowed him to shag six valkyries on his way to Asgard and kick Odin's ass out of his throne.
So, let's see what he can do against offensive juggernaut Arizona.
Nate from Better Off Red has written up a few notes about the game.
Trips has cried uncle.

Donkey Kong Suh’s name means something like “Hall of Spears.” He is more than human.

I never tire of rooting against Mike Stoops, though I wish him just enough success to stay the hell away from Norman.

How bad must Arizona’s defense be to be making Corn look good on offense? Already down 10-0 and Nebraska is running all over them.
by Blueshorn on Dec 30, 2009 7:48 PM CST reply actions
Allsome. And we get the obligatory Stoops humans fuming and berating players on the sidelines. I love that. Nearly as much as the Bob Stoops halftime interview.

They have the best defense in the soon to be 0-3 PAC 10. Supposedly the second best conference this year…….

Yes. Damn it. It won’t let me log out/delete/fix it.

Brasky is an offensive juggernaut. And a defense nautterjug.
(See what I did there?)

AZ sucks. Nebraska runs a bad high school offense and it’s working.

Heartwarming story from Erin about how the players had to be the adults and console the Pelini clowns.

Bo Pellini says Nebraska will be FIVE times better next year.
Be Afraid.
Be Very Afraid.
by srr50 on Dec 30, 2009 8:04 PM CST reply actions
That means they might break 200 yards on offense.

Yawn.
by Newy25 on Dec 30, 2009 8:23 PM CST reply actions
Would’ve been good enough to beat us this year. They are improving.
by Aledo on Dec 30, 2009 8:29 PM CST reply actions
What if Nebraska really is a lot better than we think? Can’t we hope?
by ghostofagroundgame on Dec 30, 2009 8:30 PM CST reply actions
I was wondering the same thing. It’s the reason I tuned in to see this game. Watching them play, has me a little more confident about our game!

Wondering how this affects the media’s take on our team and our game. Maybe not much, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s worth a 1/2-point on our line in the next day or two. Would probably correct back but I could see it happening.

Did the ESPN announcers just say Bo Pelini was helping Saban prepare for Texas?
Nice conference we got here fellas.

More fuel to the fire that burns this piece-of-shit conference down.
by Blueshorn on Dec 30, 2009 9:13 PM CST reply actions
They did indeed say that. Unsurprising, since they said in the intro that Pelini still felt the second shouldn’t have been put back on the clock. Hard to imagine Florida helping us the same way, huh?

We need some Samoans. Those dude just look bad-ass. Can’t we get some Tongans from Arlington?

DIdn’t Muschamp intern with Saban over this past summer? Something tells me he did. Ring a bell for anybody else, or am I making shit up?

I am watching this with the sound off because Craig James is officially dead to me. Yeah yeah yeah, “bigger than the concussion incident,” I know, but it was his douchy kid and his own douchy helicopter dad behavior that started it all.
And, FWIW, I’m loving this Nebraska performance and not sure why.

ESPN just aired the 911 call that Urban Meyer’s wife placed the day after the SEC Championship. Classless. These fucks are just about dead to me.

Man, this PAC 10 is one impressive conference. Yawn, scratch balls, roll over… Accept wife’s rejection, roll back over, dream of next Thursssdaaayyyy…zzzzzzzzzz…

You only have to look at this ape’s face to to guess how fucking stupid he is.

“Bo Pellini says Nebraska will be FIVE times better next year.”
Part of being a rotten fruit dangling from the withered branches of the Stoops Coaching Tree is that you mindlessly overhype your team, to the point of utter silliness.
You also ooze the bitter juice of “We’ll help anyone try to beat Texas!”
Scumbags, each of ‘em. I’m glad that fucker Leach got fired; like every other putrid offshoot of the Stoops Tree, such as the Fat Man of KU, he’s irretrievably tainted.
by BEHorn on Dec 30, 2009 11:31 PM CST reply actions
He only coached with Stoops a season and it was before Bob became Big Game Bob.
The Pelini shit is tiresome, however.
Beyond the shadow of a doubt, there was time on the clock. His tirade post Big XII game was only venial in that you could empathize with his emotion over a close loss and the events that led to it.
To be (a) bitching about it later and (b) helping Saban makes him a giant cock skin bag full of douche water and envy.

Has anybody noticed how bo pelini looks like the little buddy in “O Brother where art thou”… Everytime I see him I can’t help but laugh and think he is going to start singing man of constant sorrow

Craig James was nervous, and he was not thinking about the game. Did anyone hear him start to provide some commentary, say “Tech”, and stop? The other guys covered for him, but it was obvious.
I have never liked Craig James’ persona. I’ve always thought that he was a ‘face man’, without substance or character. This incident has further solidified that opinion, and it has absolutely no bearing on my opinion of Leach.
Pelini helping Saban? We need to leave this conference, and if it means taking the Ags with us, so be it.

When did USC and UCLA leave the Pac 10?
Hopefully, Pelini was sharing ideas on how to play offense against the Longhorns.

“We need to leave this conference,”
This is getting to be a tired statement from Longhorn fans. You guys are like the hot chick on her second marriage looking forward to her third. Very pretty…but my goodness, what a annoying bitch.
No one arguing with you….you belong in the pac10.
