Vince Young: 2 Time NFL Pro Bowl Selection
Sort of. Rivers backed out and they put VY in. Brady pulled out and they put Shaub in. I think Jamarcus Russel has a chance if we wait long enough.
Is this news to everyone? That's probably because it's buried on ESPN under the NFL section in the 6th headline down at the very bottom of the article about Tom Brady.

Ok, that link died so here is another one. This guy makes a good point but I still think VY was Pro Bowl caliber this year.
Link that works

hate to be a hater, but vy is only in it due to a MAJOR default. i love vy as much as the next ut alum, but ill be damned if anyone thinks he’s played pro bowl caliber football in the nfl this year or any

Congrats, Vince.
VY. Forever. Unconditionally.

Except, of course, the guys who actually choose players for the, uh, Pro Bowl.

QB’s this year with a better winning % than Vince: Manning, Brees, Rivers. That’s it. Vince is never going to put up traditional QB stats, but I’ll start expecting him to the same day that Peyton successfully runs the option.

Yeah, it’s about wins, baby. With a good draft and a healthy Vince, the Titans have a good shot next year at making some noise.

No shit – especially when Kerry Collins, Matt Leinart and Chad Henne were all available to fill the spot. What were the selectors thinking?

He deserves it solely on the basis of that 99 yard game winning drive.
There were a stretch of games there where he was most definitely playing at a pro-bowl level.

Richard Justice just can’t resist riling the Texans fans…

Particularly liked this comment from the Richard Justice blog…
“Seriously Richard. We get it. You like Vince Young. Here’s a mind meld for you though. Vince Young, your mother, and Colt Mccoy are drowning and you only have one life preserver. Who do you throw it to – Vince or Colt?”
It’s a trick question, see…you throw it to your mom, because Colt’s clearly going to heaven, and Vince walks on water.

Are you suggesting that Vince is genetically predisposed to drowning?

No, but everything he eats somehow turns into shit.

I forgot to say “Congratulations VY” in my post. This is still a nice “in your face” to all the people who gave up on him.
I personally think he deserved it. He was dam good. The same team went 0-6 that went 8-2 with him. CJ was blowing up all year long. Yeah the defense started playing better but only one thing changed.

And how many Pro Bowls has Matt Leinart gone to again?
by ghostofagroundgame on Jan 21, 2010 5:28 PM CST reply actions
50% of the time VY goes to Pro Bowls all of the time.

If the Saints don’t win tomorrow, maybe Chase Daniel has a shot.
Seriously, good for VY. I really appreciated his Shaft-like appearance on the sidelines of the title game. Lots of badassery there.
