Dicharry in trouble early but Etier turns an inning ending double play.

by rickvigorous on Feb 21, 2010 1:00 PM CST reply actions

2nd inning Dicharry was in trouble again with the bases loaded and then strikes out the side.

by t1climb1 on Feb 21, 2010 1:26 PM CST reply actions

3 up 3 down in the top of the 3rd for Dicharry. Settled down there and had a nice 8 pitch inning.

by t1climb1 on Feb 21, 2010 1:33 PM CST reply actions

So much for Dicharry settling down. He gave up 2 hits in the 4th and a run, but every guy up was hitting the ball and hitting it hard. Lucky that a couple of those shots were “at’em” type of hits.

10 consecutive scoreless innings by UNM’s world-beating pitching staff.

by mookiepatookis on Feb 21, 2010 1:58 PM CST reply actions

Scoreless inning streak reaches 12 as the Juco transfer throws 5 or 6 pitches in the 5th inning.

by mookiepatookis on Feb 21, 2010 2:15 PM CST reply actions

We’ve hit a few balls hard but UNM plays good defense. Their 3B is really good and has made every play.

by . on Feb 21, 2010 2:18 PM CST reply actions

Rowe ties it up in the bottom of the 6th.

by mookiepatookis on Feb 21, 2010 2:28 PM CST reply actions

UNM takes the lead again on a stupendously awful 0-2 pitch by McKirahan in the top of the 7th.

by mookiepatookis on Feb 21, 2010 2:37 PM CST reply actions

One fucking run??? Our school is jinxed this year.

by NY Horn on Feb 21, 2010 3:01 PM CST reply actions

UNM has played better. They’ve had more clutch hits equal defense and equal pitching. Remains to see if they are better, but in this series they’ve played like it.

UNM? Sorry echeese but we just lost 2 out of 3 to a team that got swept by Nebraska last year. Stop with the they are a really good team, and maybe just say we scored 1 fucking run and that wont work against Stanford of even Southwest Texas State

by Mysterious Package on Feb 21, 2010 3:18 PM CST reply actions

1st and 3rd in the bottom of the 9th with one out and the top of the order up. 3-1 Lobos.

by mookiepatookis on Feb 21, 2010 3:22 PM CST reply actions

Interesting strategy there Augie. Send up a guy to make his first at bat at Texas in the bottom of the 9th, down two runs.

by nordberg on Feb 21, 2010 3:25 PM CST reply actions

It’s official. UNM takes the series.

by mookiepatookis on Feb 21, 2010 3:27 PM CST reply actions

I’m ready for 2010 to be over. Did we fuck karma’s wife in the ass or something?

by nordberg on Feb 21, 2010 3:29 PM CST reply actions

Not echeese, but no matter. Have you been watching the game? Their defense is really good. They made clutch hits off our pitchers. We didn’t. Saying it’s fucking New Mexico doesn’t change that.

by . on Feb 21, 2010 3:29 PM CST reply actions

Pathetic hitting performance. Can we actually get worse than last year?

by NY Horn on Feb 21, 2010 3:29 PM CST reply actions

Another team believing its own bullshit and reading its own press. Baseball is a hard damn game to win when you can’t score runs.

by CloseToJumping on Feb 21, 2010 3:34 PM CST reply actions

Fucking Barnes!

(Or is it McWhorter? Or Goestekors? I’m getting confused these days.)

I blame volleyball. Things for the entire UT sports program have been going downhill since they blew the 2-0 lead on Penn State.

We gave up 11 runs in three games and lost the series. That shouldn’t happen in college baseball.

by nordberg on Feb 21, 2010 4:16 PM CST reply actions

Failure to light up Sunday starters has been frustrating for the last few years. This guy was a soft-tossing, lefty juco transfer. Texas did hit the ball hard on more than a few occasions, and UNM caught the ball. However, we’re not talking about circus catches. Also, lots of guys were going up there waving at the first or second pitch.

Meanwhile LSU put up 22 on Centenary.

by Sailor Ripley on Feb 21, 2010 4:36 PM CST reply actions

Well I’ve stopped giving credit to the other team. Its gives me piece of mind knowing we didnt deserve to win. The sooner I came up with idea the quicker I have gotten over the mounting losses in every sport. Really, making excuses or saying baseball or basketball or football, golfor curling, fill in the blank sport is a funny game you just cant win em all causes grey hair and wrinkles

Well, at least Jungmann is 1-0.

by uthookem on Feb 21, 2010 6:15 PM CST reply actions

Eh… I’d much rather the team be humbled against UNM than against Nebraska. Hopefully the team learns from this and improves.

It could be worse. They could have started the season 17-0 and suddenly dropped 6 of 9.
