Dolphin GM Jeff Ireland Offers Interview Advice
Having done my fair share of hiring, I always enjoy picking the brain of managers to find out how they evaluate candidates.
I never went into an interview without at least a few questions based on the candidate's background. I evaluated skills, competencies, achievements, ability to think on their feet...

Ireland, the grandson of longtime Chicago Bears personnel guru Jim Parmer (and the stepson of E.J. Holub, a Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker/center), had yearned for such an opportunity from a young age.
Odd to see bad behavior coming from a legacy hire. Especially with the yearning factor.

“You know what? Suck it. Suck it like you were a sorority girl and my johnson had low fat ranch dressing on it.”
Holy hell.
I love the Kyle Turley take in the link. He should be sought out for comment on everything.

Answering a hypothetical this morning, Colin Cowturd said he would refuse to hire anyone for his show if his “mother had been a hook.” He would only hire people from “stable backgrounds,” like himself I guess. No up from the bootstraps redemption stories for him, I suppose.
All I could think of was the hypothetical rejectee going to work for a competitor who runs that self-entitled, bigoted punk off the air.

This guy is an embarrassment and should step down. I would be fired for asking this question, don’t see why the Dolphins wouldn’t do the same.

Colin missed the point. The Dolphins already knew about the shady background of his family, they just wanted to gauge his reaction and self-control.

Correct. It was meant to be provocative. That said, there are ways to suss that out that are a tad more respectful.

Cowherd’s comments were typical of the ESPN media conglomerate: Oversimplify an issue, take a hardline opinion, state the opinion as fact, and stick to it no matter how persuasive the opposing arguments are. If someone called in and agreed with him (say, Doug Gottlieb), he’d find a way to show that this justified his own beliefs. If someone disagreed, he’d use a dubious analogy and not allow the caller a chance to respond.
The issue isn’t one of legality, but decency. Somewhere along the way, NFL teams got it in their head that the reason half of their draft picks don’t work out is because they aren’t scrutinizing these guys enough. So now, players are tested physically, intellectually, and psychologically. And the teams are still wrong on half of their draft picks.

If the Dolphins wanted this to go away they aren’t acting like it.

I just re-read this. And laughed my ass off again. And I am also with ColoradoAg. Kyle Turley needs to consulted on most matters from here on out. Collective bargaining? Gaza? Whatever. Send that hard ass in. We will get an interview with him here at BC or on FT.
Also, that Zach Garofolo Ferns shit is pretty good.

I believe it is the ideal time for the Big Z to move on. Bigger headache than he is worth.
