ESPN: College Bowl Central
ESPN announced today that the Insight Bowl is coming back into the fold. That means that 33 of the 35 bowl games on the 2010-11 schedule will be on the ESPN/ABC channels.
The Insight Bowl, played on Dec. 28th in Sun Devils Stadium out in Tempe, AZ, will feature the third choice team from the Big 12 against the third/fourth selection after the BCS from the Big Ten Conference.
The only games not under the care of the WWL are the Sun Bowl and the Cotton Bowl.
Not only does ESPN have the broadcast rights to so many bowl games, they own several of them outright. They no doubt will have a voice in matchups, and you have to wonder how deep they will dig into the story of the clamor for a playoff.
