Super Regional Open Thread
Evidently, there are sporting contests that happen despite radical realignment.
If we can fade Reid and Reese Ryan, then we have a chance.

Gotta admit, I’m surprised Green is getting the start over Jungmann, but I reckon it doesn’t matter.

Jungmann would be pitching on short rest against TCU’s ace in 100 degree weather. If we can get a win with Green today, we sweep.
by Jesus Shuttlesworth on Jun 11, 2010 1:16 PM CDT reply actions
Jungmann has been virtually unhittable in must-win games. I agree that a win today means that we sweep.

Green looking good early. Down in the zone with good sink. Only really left one up in the zone.

Game plan should be to take a lot of pitches against Purke. Young kid who should be jazzed and all over the zone.

Horrible at bat for Wahla. Swings at strikes two and three in the dirt. Loy swings at the first pitch in the dirt.
by Trips Right on Jun 11, 2010 2:02 PM CDT reply actions
Purke strikes out the side and walks off with a douchey fistpump. We swung at way too many pitches out of the zone in the first go round.

Two seeing eye singles sets the table with no one out in the second. Should be a bunt
by Trips Right on Jun 11, 2010 2:11 PM CDT reply actions
TCU scores on a Sac fly after a two strike bunt advances the runners. Going to the bottom of the second, and we need to take some fucking pitches.

I’m listening to this on the radio and Purke sounds like he has his stuff today
by maninblack on Jun 11, 2010 2:28 PM CDT reply actions
Kid’s a good pitcher but we’re doing him a ton of favors. We’re channeling Rob Deere.

Does anyone else want to punch Purke in the face, purely based on how ridiculous he looks?
by Matt on Jun 11, 2010 2:38 PM CDT reply actions
I’d pinch-hit for Rowe..but I have no rings…

Well, we got beat in Game 1 back in 2002 against Houston, then went on to sheer domination…let’s hope that happens again.
The ump was giving the low strike all game, and our batters apparently thought he was calling the sliders in the dirt strikes as well.
I have confidence in Jungmann tomorrow, and Workman on Sunday…but our bats will need to wake the fuck up. Also, can someone tell Connor Rowe to keep his back foot planted? It has come to the point that I cannot watch him take an at bat.
by uthookem on Jun 11, 2010 4:42 PM CDT reply actions
Not certain … but, I don’t think you can hit the ball if you won’t swing the bat. It’s not like Purke was wild or anything …

Close game. I hope Texas takes the next 2.
I would have pitched Green today too if I was in charge.

Our offense hasn’t been tested against much good pitching this year. TCUs two and three are a step down from uberdouche mcgoofyhat, but are as good as we’ve faced all year.
I’m getting tired of our anemic offenses.
Gonna go rub my vag for a while.

I sweated off 30lbs for a loss? I’m confident we can get the next two. TCU were acting like they won the super after the game.

uberdouche mcgoofyhat
Thanks for that. Cracked a smile on my face.
Seriously, what’s the deal with that?

How many future MLB hitters does Texas have?
Keyes?
Rupp?
Walla?(I know he is young, but I like his talent.)
I have no idea about Shepard, but that kid is a talented hitter.
Come on Horns!!!Lets win these next 2 games!!

Glad to oblige Sailor. You guys have certainly amused me. Glad to return the favor.
OH AND FUCK 2010. ESPN even had a goddamn graphic of this years fucking suckitude.

Time to hire a hitting coach and start recruiting outside of greater Austin. We got beat by a better team from our state and I’m not really fine with that. To TCU’s credit I saw no upsidedown horns all weekend.
We lose a ton from this team too.

Good point there Savage. Til you mentioned I didn’t ask where the Htown and Dallas players are. I understand Augie leaves recruiting to Harmon. Is he that lazy?
