If Pete Rozelle were still alive, he’d wish he was dead so he could spin iin his grave.
This guy is such an arrogant self-centered hack. Pffffft.

Is there any way to take that nomination back, back, back, back, back, back, back?

Remember Pat Benatar? Berman ate her bones and all in 2003.

I always felt he was a bit understated for my taste.

Curt Gowdy used to call the basketball games at my high school.
Long before I played, but still cool.

You can imagine my dismay when I heard Chris Berman doing the US Open at Pebble Beach last month. Yeah, like that assclown needs to be calling golf.
great video find sailor

Dude I hate Berman’s antics but I don’t blame him at all for the rant Sailor Ripley posted. I was doing a webcast the other day and I had three or four people moving around in the room. It is infuriatingly annoying when you’re trying to concentrate and not garble your words.
Eventually one of the dipshits knocked the phone out of the plug and we had to dial back up. That gave me a chance totell them to settle down. I didn’t go off on them, but I wanted to, and I don’t do this every day.

I don’t blame Berman for that rant either.
I blame him for his career.

ESPN once brought Curt Gowdy in during the 4th inning to chat as part of an oldtimers retrospective during a Red Sox game. After about 5 min.the announcer asked him if he wanted to call an inning or two.
It became instantly apparant how good he was and they let him call the rest of the game, with about a half dozen comments by Dave Campbell over the next 5 innings.
Honestly one of the most enjoyable baseball games I’ve watched in a long time and a rare moment of ESPN likeability.
Berman is a shitbird. There’s a reason I’ve never watched ESPN’s pre game.

I’d love 1 one minute round w/ him in a boxing ring. I could take out 20 years of irritation and still have 30 seconds to gloat over his unconscious, fat ass.

He can go all
the
way
to hell as far as I’m concerned.

Not much of a rant, imo. No physical threats, no objects thrown, no neck veins bulging, he didn’t even stand up and start gesticulating. On top of all those non occurrences, he apologized about half way through his mild tantrum/whine. Berman has always struck me as a good guy who is unwatchable.
I second Homesick Alien:
“False bonhomie, imo”.

Screw you all and the horse dills you rode in on, Berman is genius! Kind of like Dale Hansen, imperfect but unique institutions, always willing to put on a show. Great entertainers I’ll go out of my way to watch.
Berman and dad puns are good, Musberger and Pam Ward are bad.

Kafka,
Just make sure you’re seconding me in tipping the cap to Scip. False bonhomie, where it concerns Berman, is his purvey all—the—way!

I agree with Kafka… I don’t hate Berman — I don’t really hate anyone I see or hear on the air. But it has gotten to the point that he tends to overshadow whatever he is covering or discussing.
He probably is a great guy to watch a game with. It’s remarkable that he was able to build such a career with that one skill.
