Pat Williams Makes A Bid To Become NFLPA President
We discussed this a bit recently in the Sam Bradford thread where he tries to earn enough money to buy back Manhattan from the Dutch.
Apparently, a few of the veterans are feeling a bit ornery.
Recently Pat Williams knocked Toby Gerhart silly on a play and had a few sentiments for Toby, the league, the owners and other rookies.
"I don't care who it is, man. This ain't college no more. They're grown mans out there. [Expletive.] Paying these college boys like they already played before, so [expletive], we just show 'em. This is a different breed out there. This is grown men. It ain't boys no more. But they pay 'em like they done played in the NFL now."
Asked whether he said anything to Toby while he was lying on the field, Williams added:
"(Expletive). I don't apologize to nobody. (Expletive), get your ass up. Let's go. Point blank. That's how I roll. I've been playing for like 14 years. I don't complain about nothing. I don't whine about nothing. I'm just coming to camp to have fun. Same old, same old every year."
You can check out more from Tom Pelissero of ESPN1500..
Vikings scribe Judd Zulgad who has been covering the team since the raid of Lindisfarne also had a few notes.
Thankfully, Brett Favre was unavailable for comment.
Really interested to watch this whole NFL CBA thing unfold.

Sounds like Toby handled it, well, like a pro. He’s a well put together kid.
I’m new to this NFLPA CBA stuff. Sounds like the ‘last’ draft may be the next one? Is that right? So, sayonara to AJ Williams?

That Pat Williams dude is awesome.
Yeah, I think AJ could start in the NFL now. The way Muschamp recruits, it’s ok.

Seems like the vets are calling horsehockey on Bradford and company.

This could get very ugly. How do the other leagues deal with it?
If I read this correctly, Sam Bradford is worth more than Tom Brady or Peyton Manning.
I get he has more years in him, assuming he’s any good.
Love to see some Barkers talk about this labor thing. I looked it up, it’s affiliated with the afl/cio. Ha!

If it wasn’t for PED’s Pat Williams would be doing what exactly?

Bradford was hurt by an over aggresive Mormon missionary and a 180LB cornerback in college.
His giant contract is a poke in they eye to 300 lb roid rage QB killing machines. They will be gunning for his head in order to satiate some primal need to feed their pride and silence the inner urges of evolution’s missing link.
This isn’t a question of “if” he will be hurt, but how many months he will spend in a body cast.

Mr. Williams is probably just upset that he, like 78% of his colleagues, is looking at a low-balance warning in his bank account in a few years after he retires. Which, after 14 years, probably isn’t that far away.

I wonder how Pat would feel if he was a rookie?
