FanTake Update
Quick update, Scipio, et al. are beginning their assault on sports and culture NOT solely Longhorn focused. A new article is up and you should check it out.
Intelligence - The Ultimate Athletic Handicap
It features Lawrence Taylor as Hamlet and Brian Billick.
From here on out you should check in there most days to see what's going on there and around the network.
Also, on the horizon are another bushel of blogs (Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Sports, Houston Sports, MMA, OKC Thunder, BCS Analysis, NBA & College Hoops, et al.).

That Intelligence write-up would have been thought provoking if I wouldn’t have been too busy with my back pedal getting ready to stick foot and instinctually pick off a pass in the flat.
I was reminded of Frank Okam reading that.

I’m getting a Fight Club vibe from Scipio/Clipper/Wadlington.

Watchu talkin bout Wadlington? We think it has more to do with personality type than pure intellect. You hinted at this in your article when decribing certain types of intelligence that do translate well to sports. If you’re a reflective (read: hesitant) person, you might be average or brilliant, either way it might make you hesitate. But there are plenty of smart dudes who don’t confuse getting off the ball or reading the QB with logic games. Just watch us kick bitches starting in a couple weeks.
Same goes for the locker room. Its about personality type, not intellect. Smart guys are often leaders. A smart dude who buys into the system, is dedicated, and a team player is welcomed by any coach. Its the smart fucksticks who cause problems.

I just experienced the mother of all hesitations.
Very cool stuff afoot.

You know the dallas sports blog and the cowboys blog are the same thing right? I mean, nobody REALLY cares about the mavericks or rangers. They are just a distraction during cowboys offseason.

Billick also said Rolle’s intellect can be a hindrance on the field: "If you want to create hesitation on a guy, make him think. This guy can’t help but think."
Very good info but old stuff if you have been following Longhorn basketball for several years. The past several years have been a visual journey into hesitation, confusing, mistakes by ballers that allow Barnes to mess with their heads. Barnes has been creating thinkers instead of developing players that ball. Wait a second.
Sorry I know this is football season and a football article but at times I also ponder the round ball. But I have to think about it first.
