2005 Heisman Trophy Goes To...

Nobody.

The Heisman Trust Committee decided today that the 2005 Heisman Trophy will remain vacated after Reggie Bush forfeited yesterday.

Vince Young said just what you would expect about the decision.

"I would not want to have it, and don't want the trophy," the Tennessee Titans quarterback told reporters on Wednesday. "Like I said, 2005 Reggie Bush is the Heisman Trophy winner. Why would I want it?"

The Heisman is a joke of an award.

The Heisman further loses credibility. The fact that the original vote was a landslide for Bush shows how informed these voters are. Not to mention 2008.

Just give it to ESPN. They lobbied heavily for Bush. I hate politics, especially in sports.

Yeah, Vince would never say anything like: "I definitely want it…..if they send it over to me I am not going to say no to it.’’

Oh, wait…..http://blogs.tennessean.com/titans/2010/09/13/young-on-heisman-i-definitely-want-it/

But his mom didn’t want him to take it. I guess now we know who makes the decisions in the Young family. Based on his Wonderlic score, that’s probably a good thing for everyone.

honga – fair enough, though I take his most recent statement to be one of grace. He wants the hardware. It stung him to have that guy get over. Vince is, competitive, shall we say. And he has a cool crystal football because of it.

He said he’s mad that Reggie has a Super Bowl ring before him.

VY Forever.

“I thought Mr. Bush had a wonderful season in 2005. And on the one occasion Texas played USC, it was an honor to out-rush him by a hundred percent, especially since he is a running back and I am a quarterback.”

VY had twice as many TD’s as Bush in 2005, and sat out most of the 4th quarters, and some of the entire 2nd halves. They need to be giving Vince his trophy after that incredibly rude five year delay.

The best college football player in the modern era goes without a Heisman. Yeah, seems about par for the course for this country.

Someone should ask Kirk Bohls his opinion on this.

Also, Aaron Ross was a better punt returner that year and Ramonce Taylor was a better kick returner. Bush, the Heisman winner, was a marketing strategy not a football player.

According to DMN Mack called VY and begged him to accept it if the Heisman Trust offered it. This apparently was right before Bush announced his forfeiture. Linky http://m.sportsdaydfw.com/sportsday/db_99021/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=DgubB2wB&storycount=14&detailindex=1&pn=&ps=&full=true#display That apparently cuased VY’s reversal of his earlier Bad News Bears position.

Sailor, VY is competitive, but I think that in 2010, losing the Heisman in 2005 is as sore of a spot as not lettering in track as a HS sophomore. VY wants to win, but I don’t think he dwells that much on the past. He has beaten Bush every time they met on the field, so he is cool with Bush.

Was that 2009 Heisman thread the last time Beergut showed up on BC? The guy usually has a pretty decent understanding of x’s and o’s but this comparison of Drew Brees to Kliff Kingsbury in that thread is the most hilariously stupid thing I’ve seen from him – and I’ve seen him say some really, really stupid things, most of which were done to try to get some traffic to his Aggie blog.

Really a douche remark. Who cares what Vince scored on the Wonderlic or what his mom said, Vince won UT it’s first MNC in a few decades and will be a icon in Texas forever.

So based on the DMN thing and hongabear’s “response”, Mack Brown is Vince Young’s Mom?

I’m confused!

Obvious Aggroid Troll.
