The History of Texas-Nebraska Football

Expressed in succinct imagery here:

Star-divide

Of all of the Husker heartbreak permeating through that video, I'm convinced that a valedictory win by an unranked 3-2 Texas team against an undefeated Top 5 rated Nebraska in Lincoln might just be the sweetest of them all. Barking Carnival will be manning the suicide hotlines as part of our Husker outreach program should this unlikely event occur.

If we win, the Runzas are on me.

I refuse to watch that.

This video demonstrates what words can’t express – why Nebraska’s leaving the Big 12. I can only imagine what will happen if we make it 9-1.

That’s not very sporting of you, seattlehusker. All we’ve got is pregame memories this year. At least let us see you get upset before the game if it’s not going to happen during or after.

That 1999 video looks like it came off of an Intellivision.

by nobis60 on Oct 13, 2010 2:31 PM CDT reply actions

96 and 98 games were pure magic. Probably the two most enjoyable, non-Vince, games I have watched. The cult of Major really started with that 98 game, he really could do no wrong after that, in my book.

Some of the luster came off the 99 win, when we proceeded to piss away the season at A&M, but it was a great day to be at DKR. Nebraska was a 10.5 point favorite, on the road, so it was a much bigger upset than it appears now.

The ‘02 is really a blur for me, I was there, I know we one, but remember little else. Nebraska hadn’t lost at home since ’98. So for a period of something like 13 years, no one beat Nebraska at home except for Texas. And people are surprised that Nebraska fans are so gracious………. They should have been, they never lost.

By ’03 the tide had clearly turned and was the only true beat down.

’06 and ’07 were highlighted by great 4th quarters, but generally shitty play by Texas, we won because they sucked.

Is this the closest thing we’re going to get to a mudhole post?

by Texastough on Oct 13, 2010 2:36 PM CDT reply actions

Huck- I’m trying to think only happy thoughts leading into this game. The fact that OU inexplicably gave the recipe for Sooner Magic to UT visibly upsets me.

I miss the mudhole posts :(

What bothers you more – that your QB is named TMagic, which sounds like Sooner magic and conjures all of those bad memories, or the fact that TMagic is the gayest nickname possible for a human being to have?

God, I love hearing that choad yell “GOT HIM WIDE OPEN, BABY!”

Need to recut that video with some room at the end for one more clip…I hope.

goddammit that was some funny shit

This video alone might be enough to swing the game in our favor. This can’t end well for TMagic.

Kindly recall that nuclear weapons targeting is controlled from United States Strategic Command, headquartered at Offutt AFB, just south of Omaha, Nebraska.

Not saying anything. Just pointing out that we’ve got means and motive. Don’t go giving us opportunity as well.

The US Armed Forces are about 50% Texan. So I’m confident that they’d fire those weapons into Ogallala.

Increasing property values there by 30%.

nice personal foul by the thugs on that applewhite/mcgarity td pass….he was seeing butterflies.

No shit, thats one of the few truly gay things produced by an african american. It makes RuPaul and Blake Gideon shudder. Please play that on a continuous loop pregame in the locker room.

I prefer TBreeze or El Matador (stolen from another board) thank you. When you have 8 runs of over 40 yards (including 2 of 80yds) in 5 games I guess the bad nicknames are bound to follow. In comparison, Denard Robinson has 4 runs of 40+.

TBreeze is averaging 39.7ypc on his 12TD runs.

by seattlehusker on Oct 13, 2010 6:01 PM CDT reply actions

What do you think of Taylor Swift as a nickname?

Dirty Martinez?

The Coyote? Because he always gets his team across the boundary?

by Scipio Tex on Oct 13, 2010 6:13 PM CDT reply actions

I say: T-bagger.

That ostensibly triumphant 2009 video was deceptive. I felt sick and dead inside at the instant we won that one — convinced Alabama would destroy us a month later.

The 2006 video similarly tells me we never had much idea what we had in Jamaal Charles or how best to leverage his capabilities.

The 1999 video looks as if it were carefully handcrafted by a small retarded child with an inadequate box of crayons. (In this, it resembles our current offensive scheme.)

Jones – Anderson Cooper approves.

by TXStampede on Oct 13, 2010 7:29 PM CDT reply actions

this thread is extremely disturbing

by Farmer Ted on Oct 13, 2010 8:06 PM CDT reply actions

Louis L’am Jones, TXStampede, and T-Magic’s personal fluffer Anderson Cooper have not thought the whole T-bagger thing through. If there is a T-bagger, doesn’t that mean someone is getting T-bagged? In this case if Martinez is the bagger, then we the UT fans are the T-bag-e. Same goes for the scenario in which that term is most often used nowadays.

by magnusbleuveigner on Oct 13, 2010 8:15 PM CDT reply actions

“TBreeze is averaging 39.7ypc on his 12TD runs.”

While also freshening the air and eliminating odor.

by BEHorn on Oct 13, 2010 8:19 PM CDT reply actions

So TBreeze is less gay?

by Phenomenal Smith on Oct 13, 2010 9:09 PM CDT reply actions

This is just sick and wrong.

And almost as funny as the “UT recruiting thread” from your good friends at Soonerfans.com

Almost.

by LouisvilleHusker on Oct 13, 2010 9:12 PM CDT reply actions

1998- 3rd and goal, put ricky in motion and have him line up at WR. And we were actually surprised when Greg Davis bragged this year about not knowing who was in the game when he called plays?

by stuckinmn on Oct 13, 2010 9:19 PM CDT reply actions

I predict a complete absence of the 1990’s style tight end magic.

by Dave on Oct 14, 2010 2:47 AM CDT reply actions

Fantastic goods from you, man. I’ve understand your stuff previous to and you’re just too great. I actually like what you have acquired here, certainly like what you’re stating and the way in which you say it. You make it entertaining and you still take care of to keep it smart. I can not wait to read much more from you. This is really a terrific site.
