Catch 22
That's where we landed back in the polls -- in both the USA today coaches poll, as well as the AP Poll.

Dang, I kind of thought we’d land up inside the Top 20 after beating the #5 team in the country. Oh, well, it really doesn’t matter much at this point.

Yeah, I thought it would be higher, but the only other 2 loss teams ahead of us are Arky and South Carolina, so it’s not unreasonable given what both of them have done this year.
What chafes me right now is that sorry OU team getting so much love. I’d hope Mizzou gets some of their own if/when they win next week.

We get open threads on a UT blog for VY’s games, but we couldn’t get one for Colt’s very first start?
Glad he did well considering he was running for his life the. 9 hits and 5 sacks?! And he still managed to get the most ypc. I think the Browns should just stick with him.

Not sure why everybody seems to be on OU’s case right now. They’re playing better each week and looked unreal against Iowa State (who while awful did manage to take out TTU). Who the hell would you put in front of them, other than TCU? LSU? Hahaha. Auburn perhaps, but they literally don’t have a defense. Michigan State? They’re good but they almost lost to a very bad ND team. So tell me, what’s all the “love?” They are where they deserve to be in relation to the teams around them.

“Not sure why everybody seems to be on OU’s case right now.”
It sickens me to agree with this, but OU has done what they needed to do to win their games, unlike another team we know (cough cough).
Besides, nobody this year is dominant unless its Oregon, TCU, and Boise. (What a strange thing to type!)

Well, FWIW, OU almost lost to Utah State.

TCU should be above OU, along with Oregon, Auburn and Boise. But I agree that, at this point in time, you can’t rank them any lower than #5 given what has happened thus far. I still expect them to lose twice before the season is out, though.

Just curious, but does TCU get a bump past the Sooners when they beat Utah in Fort Worth?
I dread the thought of an OU-UO national title game.

Based on what?? The win over 3-loss Oregon State?
I like to think I hate OU as much as any Texas fan, but I also try not to be a crazed homer.

I think OU is going to lose one of these, maybe even 2, which makes it interesting for UT.
Sat, Oct 23 at (21) Missouri
Sat, Oct 30 Colorado
Sat, Nov 6 at Texas A&M
Sat, Nov 13 Texas Tech
Sat, Nov 20 at Baylor
Sat, Nov 27 at (20) Oklahoma State
Between OK State, UT, and OU. The Horns have the easier closing sched. Would be a shock to see us at the final Big 12 (as we currently know it) CC game, but stranger things have happened.

I think the Missouri game is a very big game for the obvious reason, but also that of the teams remaining they have the best defense of the teams OU faces in those 6 games. They will roll the middle four and while OSU has posted big numbers on offense they are terrible defensively.

OU doesn’t lose at home but has 4 road games remaining, Mizzou, Ok St, A&M, and Baylor.
- Missouri is obviously the best team having just mauled A&M in College Station. SDSU may be their best win (TCU beware).
- Ok St is giving up 27 ppg to the 80th ranked schedule in the country.
- A&M usually gives OU a game usually in College Station, but this team is imploding.
- Baylor could finish with 4 conference wins if they beat KSU in Waco. OU has trouble with mobile QB’s but has NEVER lost to Baylor.
That said, I think it may be the 3rd straight week that a #1 team goes down, MU 28 – OU 20

#22? our offense still fucking sucks. Six games in and all GD and Mack can think up to do was ditch the pro-style we’ve been PRACTICING ALL YEAR for some form of a spread. For the first half, anyway. We reverted right back to our RETARDED OFFENSE in the second half.

Never, ever, ever count on Missouri to beat OU when it matters, doesn’t happen. I was at that Big 12 CG when a much better Missouri team just needed to beat an underwhelming OU team to possibly get to the MNC game. They folded like they’d never seen a defense before.

OU may lose 2, but I’m not thrilled about our prospects against OSU right now. We can’t win a shootout this year. Perhaps the D will perform another masterpiece.
