That was awesome — he knew he stepped into right after he said it.

Bama 21-0.

Boise State is really enjoying this game.

Love to see Fraudburn exposed. If Bama blows them out, the voters probably drop them enough to keep Chizik’s Cheats out of the faux national title game.

Still, rooting for Bama today is like rooting for the Gulf Cartel to beat the Zetas.

Still, rooting for Bama today is like rooting for the Gulf Cartel to beat the Zetas.

I guffawed at your handle.

And for the record, I am not rooting for Bama and hopefully never will. I’m rooting for misery, and I think that Auburn losing for the first time in their final regular season game against their arch rival and big brother is the result that will cause the most misery. Potentially epic amounts of misery.

Schadenfreude.

by bigdukesix on Nov 26, 2010 2:39 PM CST reply actions

Part of me is intrigued by the chances of my Frogs playing Oregon and the rest of me feels sorry for Nevada tonight.

by Davey O'Brien on Nov 26, 2010 2:46 PM CST reply actions

There is the Chizik defense that I know and love. God he was an awful defensive coordinator who road the coattails of Jesus in Cleats (VY) to the job. Well to think of it our entire coaching staff did the same thing in getting plushy contracts.

by PrimeTime on Nov 26, 2010 2:48 PM CST reply actions

Bama’s defense is dominating. Auburn averages 7.6 YPP on the season – they’re #1 nationally on that statistic. Through 1.5 quarters, they averaged 0.13 YPP. That’s insane.

by BrickHorn on Nov 26, 2010 2:51 PM CST reply actions

TCU could still end up in the Rose Bowl. right?

IIRC the Rose Bowl must take the highest rated BCS team to face the Big 10 champ if they lose the Pac 10 champion to the BCS game.

Let’s see we could have

Oregon vs. Boise State in the BCS championship game

Wisconsin vs. TCU in the Rose Bowl

LSU/Auburn vs. Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl

Va. Tech vs. U.Conn/West Virginia in the Orange Bowl

There’s a lineup ESPN can get behind.

by srr50 on Nov 26, 2010 2:51 PM CST reply actions

Except Oregon probably loses tonight or next week.

Setting up a Boise vs. TCU/Aub/Wisc/Ohio St/maybe LSU (I think they lose to Ark) debate. Another BCS implosion

by srr50 on Nov 26, 2010 3:00 PM CST reply actions

Danielson would blow Nick Saban and Bear Bryant (if alive) at the same time.

How do networks continue to employ these overly biased color commentary guys is beyond pathetic.

by Willow01 on Nov 26, 2010 3:03 PM CST reply actions

CBS will spend the 2nd half trying to get a one loss SEC team in the MNC based on the conference being tougher than the holocaust.

by Savage Henry on Nov 26, 2010 3:05 PM CST reply actions

Willow — Seriously you don’t know how they stay employed? Let’s see, CBS is paying the SEC a lot of money.

They want their announcers to be biased.

by srr50 on Nov 26, 2010 3:07 PM CST reply actions

srr50,
I think you may have the Rose Bowl rule a little off. Only one non-AQ school can qualify as an automatic to the BCS. So, if Boise State is in the national championship, then TCU must be selected as an at-large. The Rose wouldn’t be forced under this scenario to choose a non-AQ school. I could be wrong about this, though.

Champ: Oregon vs. Boise St.
Rose: Stanford vs. Wisconsin
Sugar: S Carolina/Auburn vs. Ohio State
Orange: Va Tech vs. LSU/Alabama
Fiesta: Big 12 (Ok State) vs. Big East (West Va/UConn)

by awiggo on Nov 26, 2010 3:14 PM CST reply actions

Srr50—-last time I checked both Auburn and Alabama were both in the SEC.

Along with LSU, Ark, and others. Danielson is biased towards Bama EVERY week.

by Willow01 on Nov 26, 2010 3:15 PM CST reply actions

Apparently Dan Hawkins is at the game in Lincoln supporting his son.

Even for the Zen Master, that’s gotta be awkward.

by parlin on Nov 26, 2010 3:23 PM CST reply actions

Wow, the Alabama defense is bad!

Oh wait – that was miserable play from a single safety making the whole D look bad.

It can happen.

by nobis60 on Nov 26, 2010 3:52 PM CST reply actions

WRT Danielson’s comment on Tebow’s play action, he was speaking about the one man play action, where the QB fakes run, then drops back, freezing the safety, not the play-action in general.

Damn. I really want Wisconsin to get a shot at one of the Non-BCS schools. No me gusta a matchup with Stanford.

by redfoot on Nov 26, 2010 3:57 PM CST reply actions

Alabama was getting ready to go up 28-0 when Mark Ingram fumbles the ball through the endzone for a touchback.

It is now Bama 24-21 late in the 3rd.

Scam’s a thief who choose not to learn from that mistake but instead became a repeat offender. He’s got the heart of a crook. Watching him celebrate by acting like he’s such the persecuted victim reminds me of crooks celebrating after getting away with their latest crimes. Different venue, different offenses, same disregard for rules/laws, same lack of ethics, similar moral flaws.

Sorry, I’m not a moral relativist.

The heart of a crook — What you described is exactly why I enjoy watching Cam Newton. To quote 50 Cent: “I watch gangsta flicks and root for the bad guy and turn it off at the end cuz the bad guy dies.”

Did we ever recruit Foles?

by Savage Henry on Nov 26, 2010 6:56 PM CST reply actions

Why the fuck would you want LSU in the Cotton Bowl? You played a crappy game last night, and won on points off of turnovers (17, if I’m remembering correctly). LSU, even with the Mad Hatter running things, will beat you like a cross-eyed stepchild.

Fuck me sideways. Aggies are an unbearable lot when they manage a win over us. I fucking hate it. One 9-win season in however-the-fuck long it’s been and suddenly there’s a power shift and we’re out and they’re in and blah blah blah. Look, aggie, even a broken clock is right twice a day. You are bound to win one every now and then. Congratulations on your 11th win in Austin in 103 tries.

You need to understand something. Our head coach makes enough money to personally pay off your entire athletic department loan from the university in about three years. We are about to sign a TV deal with ESPN that pays more money than you could ever hope to have your goofball athletic teams produce on their own. The whole fucking sports world needs Texas to succeed. The nut-crunching, towel-waving, pretend army team provides the comic relief to our neverending ego and need to be in the top tier of, well, pretty much everything.

So, while your heart raced and your scrotum secretly shriveled up last night as Gilbert drove the ’Horns down the field on our last drive, and you went to the happy place you go to when it becomes obvious that we are about to pull the rug out from under you again – even if we ARE a woefully under-performing bunch of uncoached dipshits – all of us who have been watching this team for twelve games just waited for the inevitable. It turned out to be an interception this time, but it could just as easily have been a fumble, or a rash of moronic penalties, or the Godzillatron falling over and crushing our entire offense.

But rest assured: The ‘Horns will be back, and they’ll be back a whole lot sooner than you’d like. You can scream and shout all you want about how you’ve really been behind Sherman the whole time, how he’s the man, and the aggies are back, and the tide has turned and the shoe’s on the other foot and whatever other cliches you can come up with. But the simple truth is this: You are the little brother. You always have been, and you always will be. Texas will go out and outspend everybody and we’ll have Chris Peterson or Chip Kelly or somebody as our OC next year, and the world will go back to it’s rightful orientation – Texas on top.

Either that, or Greg Davis will be back, and next year will be a whole lot like this year. Shit. What a depressing thought. I need another drink.

One of the reasons we went 5-7 might b/c all of the state of Oregon’s good players are from Texas. I stole that from a tweet from Dan Wetzel. God how bad is our talent development/evaluation/coaching?

by ut-06 on Nov 26, 2010 9:18 PM CST reply actions

It was a little painful to watch Arizona’s offensive line play so competently. Foles had nearly all day to throw the ball, OL actually cut blocked. Not a 5 star recruit among them (and only one 4 star. Now watching the Arizona LBs and DL failing to run the same zone read play on four straight pays was a little disheartening but that’s another story. God help whomever plays Oregon in the NC game.

I can’t believe nobody on here is commenting on the Boise St. vs. Nevada game. I just watched the Boise kicker shank the winning field goal after they completed a ridiculous heave down the field with 10 seconds left. Going to overtime now. Anybody seeing this?

by tim on Nov 27, 2010 12:43 AM CST reply actions

BTW you can’t tell for sure on TV but it really looked to me like that field goal was good.

by tim on Nov 27, 2010 12:45 AM CST reply actions

Sure looked like Boise got screwed by peewee league goalposts and an incompetent ref. I would swear that FG was good.

Shouldn’t have been close, that choketastic kicker just cost Moore the Heisman. That game winning pass would have been replayed nearly non-stop ESPN for the next 2 weeks, Flutie Squared.

by Boise 34, Nevada 31 on Nov 27, 2010 12:47 AM CST reply actions

Fuck that fucking choketastic fucktard Boise kicker. Blows a game winning kick and then the OT kick, both barely longer than extra points, single-handedly destroying what would have been the culmination of a decade’s worth of work by the program.

BTW, why do we get a goalpost view of the Nevada kick but not for any of the 2 Boise kicks that look like they might have actually been good?

by "That idiot kicker" on Nov 27, 2010 12:56 AM CST reply actions

Are Boise St.’s tears blue, too?

by Varsity on Nov 27, 2010 1:06 AM CST reply actions
