I’m hoping not to see too much of what I call The Lineup of Death, but I think it’s unavoidable. Brown, Balbay, Lucas, Hill, Wangmene,

My sources tell me that Mack will be at the game with a BC tote bag. Inside the bag is Bob Stoops’ severed head, roller skates, some twine, and a bottle of kerosene. This is a halftime entertainment show you won’t want to miss.

The LoD is what Barnes plays when he is try to keep the score down to avoid embarrassing an esteemed opponent. It does not always work however, because Brown can get in a rhythm since there is nobody to share the ball with.

Jesus, per your comment, heres a question I’ve always wondered: when you show up for an orgy, do you just take your pants off and go, or do you let it happen naturally?

Our main problem is playing against a team with two solid posts. Otherwise we can ride with Gary at the 4.

J’Covan off a curl is an offense in itself. So good at finding the screener when the defender over hedges. No hedge=a sweet little jumper.

What’s the story on our PA guy? I hear him in the background and it makes me glad I’m not at the game. When I’m at the game and listening to him, it makes me wish I was at home.

Gary Johnson should get a temporary neck tat since he’s playing the 4.

Christ. I think we all just witnessed a hate crime in the FEC.

Hard to top beating MSU at their place, but this may have been our overall best game of the year to this point.

by nordberg on Jan 4, 2011 10:05 PM CST reply actions

What was that slop that the Hogs rolled out there? Was their A team in New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl?

No doubt the Horns are coming together, but that was a pitiful performance by Arky.

by texoz on Jan 4, 2011 11:20 PM CST reply actions

Great D by the horns. Inspired move by Barnes to put Lucas on Rotnei and should improve Jai’s confidence in his D.

Is J’Covan ever gonna grow up? He is his own worst enemy.

by Kafka on Jan 5, 2011 6:53 AM CST reply actions

By definition any 33-pt win is an easy one but jeez, it looked like we were playing a bunch of 8th-graders. It’s usually easy to find a lot of impressive things in a blowout win but outside of Jai Lucas’ impression of his brother John I’m not real sure exactly what stood out for us. It was a nice unexpected breather before UConn rolls. FWIW, not saying we’ll beat the Huskies by 33 but I won’t be surprised with a double digit win.

by Reno Hightower on Jan 5, 2011 7:40 AM CST reply actions

What stood out for me was that we gave a damn on defense. Our pressure man-to-man made Arky quit early. This is usually one of those games right before Conference play where in the past a Barnes team has come out lethargic and let the opponent hang around for a while before getting interested.

Not last night. They were engaged from the opening tip — I like that about this team.

by srr50 on Jan 5, 2011 8:26 AM CST reply actions

SRR – Barnes has these guys believing there is no “I” in TEAM. We have a few stars in the making but not like prior years. No entitlement with this bunch. Just nine dedicated blue-collar worker bees.

by TXStampede on Jan 5, 2011 8:47 AM CST reply actions

Always good to watch a beating of Arkansas. Nice work all around, although J’Covan really needs to grow up and stop acting like an entitled asshole.

If I’m not mistaken, I saw a bit of a smile work its way across Rick’s face during one of the later timeouts.

by Levander Williams on Jan 5, 2011 8:52 AM CST reply actions

Who was the decent post player Arky had a few years ago? Looked like a hillbilly but was a pretty good shot blocker…

by Hornmatic on Jan 5, 2011 8:55 AM CST reply actions

I haven’t had a chance yet to watch other Top 10 teams, besides the ones UT has played, but I have little doubt this is a Top 10 team.

As mentioned before, when you see shots of the bench it looks like the players and coaches are having a lot of fun, and not just in the blow outs. This team is hitting on all cylinders. If Jai Lucas can provide a solid 8 to 12 minute break for Corey/Dogus like he did last night, then I really like our chances for FF.

Hopefully, the coaches are keeping a close eye on Corey & Tristan to make sure they’re getting enough rest to be ready for a March run.

8.5. J’Covan still spends 50% of his time in his own head movie.

by BEHorn on Jan 5, 2011 9:59 AM CST reply actions

I think the PA guy’s prior gig was at the The Lady. He was cashiered when it became Chicas Bonitas.

by JUICE on Jan 5, 2011 10:36 AM CST reply actions

Jai was able to play alot because Arkansas also has a midget that he can guard. We won’t be able to get consistent minutes out of him because his playing time is based on if the other team has a player he can guard.

by kevwun on Jan 5, 2011 10:46 AM CST reply actions

Our PA guys sounds like someone doing a PA guy impersonation.

by kevwun on Jan 5, 2011 10:47 AM CST reply actions

It’s like we’re actively trying to create the worst possible gameday atmosphere in both football and basketball. That PA guy actually factors into my decision on whether or not to attend games.

by nordberg on Jan 5, 2011 10:57 AM CST reply actions

Just like I said weeks ago, keep J’Cancer on the bench and play Jai. I’m so sick of his attitude. At least Jai plays with max effort, even if it looks a little awkward.

by texasengr on Jan 5, 2011 11:34 AM CST reply actions

the problem with playing Lucas against quality competition is that he pretty much sucks. not good enough on D and not a real effective PG. additionally, he hasn’t been shooting all that well this year.

with J’Covan — for better or for worse — he appears to have a king-sized set of stones. to his credit, he seems to play best against tougher competition. it’s tough to imagine what goes on inside that guy’s head…but it’s not like we went into the deal with our eyes closed.

by txsa on Jan 5, 2011 11:57 AM CST reply actions

Not only that Nordberg, but I think we’re probably paying someone, as in an outside vendor, to script game day. No way half the schools in the country play the same five crummy jock rock anthems by chance. Nothing says enthusiasm like “Sweet Child of Mine”, otherwise known as ’the party killer."

But, if you jump up and down like a fool, you might be awarded a certificate for a free medium-sized one-topping pizza.
