Anyone know of a stream? It doesn’t look like ESPN3 is carrying this, which is a little odd to me.

by CrazyJoeDavola on Feb 5, 2011 7:08 PM CST reply actions

In Dallas it’s on ESPNU.

by nobis60 on Feb 5, 2011 7:29 PM CST reply actions

I think it’s on ESPNU across the region, but for whatever reason, they’re not simulcasting on ESPN3.

I WANTS MY MEDIA DOMINATIONS.

by CrazyJoeDavola on Feb 5, 2011 7:32 PM CST reply actions

I was at SMU when little Sasser was there. Dude thought he was a STAR. His world came crashing down one night in a hotel room with a cheerleader.

by Savage Henry on Feb 5, 2011 7:42 PM CST reply actions

Nevermind, it just popped up on the ESPN3 list of offered programs. It wasn’t there a half an hour ago.

by CrazyJoeDavola on Feb 5, 2011 7:46 PM CST reply actions

Any other streams for those of us without ESPN3?

by Kilgorehorn on Feb 5, 2011 7:48 PM CST reply actions

Homeland Security took down those terrorists from channelsurfing.net so I don’t have anything for you Kilgorehorn.

by Trips Right on Feb 5, 2011 8:11 PM CST reply actions

Jham with a nice start. A dime and a bomb.

by Trips Right on Feb 5, 2011 8:13 PM CST reply actions

Kilgore,

ATDHE doesn’t have a link up for the game yet but may in a few minutes…

CJ with the nasty slam!!!!!

by Patrick Bateman on Feb 5, 2011 8:21 PM CST reply actions

OMFG what a poke by Cory Joseph! I didn’t think he had that in him! Wow.

by Trips Right on Feb 5, 2011 8:22 PM CST reply actions

WTH ! Joseph

by triplehorn on Feb 5, 2011 8:22 PM CST reply actions

Defense is looking solid again. How long does Pat Knight get?

by Patrick Bateman on Feb 5, 2011 8:25 PM CST reply actions

CoJo!!! Ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha!

by Wyatt on Feb 5, 2011 8:25 PM CST reply actions

Kilgore,

ATDHE still doesn’t have link up but may in a few minutes. Check back there…..

JHam is hot from 3. Me likey.

Can we get Barnes to setup a scrimmage with Popovich’s boys down in SA so that we can have some competition???

by marqroid on Feb 5, 2011 8:27 PM CST reply actions

I like how every time Tech gets the ball, we take it away from them.

by Wyatt on Feb 5, 2011 8:27 PM CST reply actions

17 point lead w over 11 min left to start ? Crikey. My seat’s not even warm.

by triplehorn on Feb 5, 2011 8:28 PM CST reply actions

We’re filthy on defense. What a difference a season makes.

by Trips Right on Feb 5, 2011 8:29 PM CST reply actions

Having a true shot blocker makes such a huge difference….

Matt Hill continues his great Kurt Rambis’ season….

by Patrick Bateman on Feb 5, 2011 8:30 PM CST reply actions

Great thoughts Patrick. It also helps when your 6-8 wing can stay in front of third guards.

by Trips Right on Feb 5, 2011 8:34 PM CST reply actions

The next outside shot Jai Lucas takes should be his last.

by AKHorn on Feb 5, 2011 8:37 PM CST reply actions

Definitely. It’s been so nice to see the growth in JHam’s game. Night and day attitude wise. I’ll miss have a true wing player over 6’7" that can break someone down off the dribble. We haven’t had one and I’m not sure we have one coming in our draft class.

BTW, thanks for the good news on the recruiting front. Rose can ball….

by Patrick Bateman on Feb 5, 2011 8:37 PM CST reply actions

Trips, it seems like the Garden Gnome has been been getting some minutes consistently as of late – does he actually provide anything for us other than spelling CoJo, JCB and Balbay? I’m not sure I’ve seen him make a shot, let alone take a good one. It just seems we are deep enough at guard with those 3 to not have to play him.

by Grateful Horn on Feb 5, 2011 8:38 PM CST reply actions

Wangmene needs to be in when we close out games. He’s probably our second best foul shooter.

by Trips Right on Feb 5, 2011 8:39 PM CST reply actions

Grateful, he’s probably the best player we have when it comes to entering the post. Aside from that, nada.

by Trips Right on Feb 5, 2011 8:40 PM CST reply actions

Heat check by JHam……He’s en fuego….

by Patrick Bateman on Feb 5, 2011 8:41 PM CST reply actions

BTW, Jai’s coming in to manage wear and tear on Cojo, Balbay, and Brown. Be shocked if he got any minutes in the big dance.

by Trips Right on Feb 5, 2011 8:41 PM CST reply actions

Be shocked if he got any minutes in the big dance.

That’s sorta what I was getting at, and I hope that is the case.

Tech looks pitiful – they don’t even want to play us.

by Grateful Horn on Feb 5, 2011 8:44 PM CST reply actions

Lubbock High broke out the Tech jerseys tonight. Wow.

by AKHorn on Feb 5, 2011 8:46 PM CST reply actions

“Wangmene feeds Lucas” … what’s wrong with that picture … really?

by VirginiaLonghorn on Feb 5, 2011 8:52 PM CST reply actions

I’m going to have to wipe the tears aside to watch the replay. That looked like a post, a kickout, and then a repost. Holy shit. If we take a charge, I might have to create a Rick Barnes’ altar.

by Trips Right on Feb 5, 2011 9:21 PM CST reply actions

Our play resembles Henry James’ freshly bleached asshole.

by Trips Right on Feb 5, 2011 9:26 PM CST reply actions

dedfisher is about to wander out on the floor Dennis Hopper style after that call. Pretty weak off the ball foul call.

by Trips Right on Feb 5, 2011 9:29 PM CST reply actions

Paging the Men’s Basketball team from the first 15 minutes of the game, please return to the Frank Erwin Center, the game has resumed.

J’growin

by triplehorn on Feb 5, 2011 9:34 PM CST reply actions

I guess even this team wasn’t immune from a lapse in focus/intensity, but glad to see them respond back. Hopefully they got that out of their system

by Grateful Horn on Feb 5, 2011 9:36 PM CST reply actions

Getting thoroughly outworked in the 2nd half……They want the loose balls and rebounds more than us….

by Patrick Bateman on Feb 5, 2011 9:40 PM CST reply actions

JCB didn’t force any shots early in his PT, passed it around, stayed cool then drains b2b 3s when it’s time.

by triplehorn on Feb 5, 2011 9:42 PM CST reply actions

JCB was a calming influence on our offense. Good step.

by Trips Right on Feb 5, 2011 9:44 PM CST reply actions

I am paying the monthly subscription fee through the Texas website. The website notes ‘CBSSports’, and I get audio, but no video.

All schedules note the game on ESPNU, but I have Time Warner as internet provider. The ESPN site notes that Time Warner does not currently carry ESPNU.

What gives? Is the subscription no longer valid with the new contract? Is Texas not keeping the Website up-to-date? Does anyone else get ESPN3 or ESPNU with Time Warner as internet provider?

I didn’t see a phone number to call for help, and I’m not expecting they will jump right on subscription cancellation. The $6.95 isn’t a big deal, but I am irritated that the game isn’t on. If I want to donate the money I will, but not this way.

Hook ‘em, but let’s get this ‘stuff’ right, athletics.

by java on Feb 5, 2011 9:44 PM CST reply actions

Would those with coverage keep us posted on the score? I don’t have it, despite paying for the subscription service.

by java on Feb 5, 2011 9:46 PM CST reply actions

java, if you’re in Houston just come watch it at my place. I should warn you that I have four young kids that cuss at the TV.

69-54 Horns with 4:50 left

69-54 Horns with 3:40 to go.

by Trips Right on Feb 5, 2011 9:52 PM CST reply actions

Man, Matt Hill has come into his own……Guy couldn’t tie his shoes last year and now he’s great bench strength and our best position interior defender….

by Patrick Bateman on Feb 5, 2011 9:54 PM CST reply actions

Java, I have Time Warner in Dallas and I can watch on ESPN3.com. I had to “register” through either Time Warner or ESPN3, I forget, but it let me create some sort of account and I can watch ESPN3 now.

by Grateful Horn on Feb 5, 2011 9:54 PM CST reply actions

71-56 Horns with 3 to go

by Trips Right on Feb 5, 2011 9:54 PM CST reply actions

Great find…JCB to Dogus on the baseline….

73-58. We can’t rebound right now.

by Patrick Bateman on Feb 5, 2011 9:55 PM CST reply actions

Doesn’t look like we’re going to cover the 19.5

by Trips Right on Feb 5, 2011 9:56 PM CST reply actions

20th win for the Horns. Congrats fellas. Now go fix your shit.

by Trips Right on Feb 5, 2011 10:02 PM CST reply actions

Trips and Grateful,

Thank you. I have been trying to create that account to get everything cleared up for OU (think its on ESPN3), but darn if TWC isn’t having all sorts of trouble. I can’t believe it. Simplest of information AND I wrote it down, just in case, and TWC is telling me it doesn’t match up. grrrr.

Trips, if I were still in Houston, I would love to come over, wrestle with the kids and watch the game. It sounds like they wouldn’t be offended if I slipped up and issued a profanity periodically, if the Horns had a down minute or two.

How can the password be wrong when I checked ‘remember this password’? Time Warner, who?

I missed the game, darn it!

by java on Feb 6, 2011 12:17 AM CST reply actions

You gonna post-mortem this, Trips?

Two questions:

Did Barnes call a timeout tonight? I don’t think he did in the second half and I am guessing that was purposeful.

Basketball strategy 101: How in the hell can Texas Tech fail to defend the exact same in-bounds play five different times, leaving Gary Johnson uncontested jumpers from 15 feet (he went 3-5, unless I missed one)? Papa Knight would have loved it.

by jonestopten on Feb 6, 2011 8:34 AM CST reply actions

Jones, I’ll do a small post mortem. Not a lot to take away from this game if you’re Texas. We played like a top 5 team in the first half and then mailed it in the rest of the way.

As for Barnes, he certainly didn’t call a run-stopping timeout. That’s always been his MO so you’re right.

As for not guarding Gary Johnson, I’m not sure what our lineup was on the inbounds plays but often times Gary is the fourth or fifth option. It’s tough to guard one player on an inbounds much less the opposing teams big 15 feet from the bucket. Gary makes us tougher to defend when he’s playing the 4 because he can face up bigger players that are used to playing in the paint.

by Trips Right on Feb 6, 2011 9:37 AM CST reply actions

Barnes got his teachable moment last night. Tech made their run, but they have no depth, and they were clearly running close to empty when they cut it to six. It was pretty funny watch Barnes with his chin in his hand essentially saying, “you guys got yourself into this mess, now get yourself out of it.”

He knew he was getting the TV timeouts, and why give Tech any more rest opportunities? They were expending themselves, (as teams who fall behind by large numbers on the road will do), and he knew he had fresh troops to throw in there and push the lead back out — which he eventually did.

He has tape to show this team on what happens when they take their foot off the gas, and he will drum that into their heads over the next couple of days. It is a great way to get this team ready to go back on the road to Norman, which they might not have taken as seriously as they should unless they went through what they did last night.

by srr50 on Feb 6, 2011 1:32 PM CST reply actions

If he needs OU tape, he can show them the 24-3 run against BU last week.
