If we can stop Kelvin Sampson from sexting recruits at halftime, we have a chance.

8 inches of snow in Norman and no school. OU is not charging for tickets in the hope that someone will show up. It’s 13 degrees on the way to -1 tonight.

Even your weather reports are depressing, ransom.

Trips will be along shortly after power bathing his 4 kids in the same tub in less than two minutes.

ransom, KD is there and he’s the only one that matters.

The other ice is the real trouble maker.

During the Notre Dame/Louisville game, Bob Knight called Dogus Balbay the best point guard in the country. I almost choked on my Deschutes Obsidian Stout.

NO mercy tonight…Let’s crush these fuckers!!

For some reason “flying Tristan Thompson” just reminded me of “streaking Jordan Shipley”.
by Magnificent Bastard on Feb 9, 2011 8:18 PM CST reply actions
We are the best legit team beating the spread. F me for doubting us.
by dick on Feb 9, 2011 8:20 PM CST reply actions
Was it just me or was the last 2 minutes of Marquette – USF the worst basketball you’ve seen all year?
by Diego on Feb 9, 2011 8:21 PM CST reply actions
My favorite move is us entering the mid to high post and then making an entry pass from there deeper into the post.
Looks like a packed house plus Toby Keith.

This is really the kind of fun I expected to have last year. Better late than never I suppose.
Off topic but, anyone know what happened to SLexpress? I always enjoyed his basketball insight.
by Diego on Feb 9, 2011 8:29 PM CST reply actions
SLX just showed himself on Shag today for the first time since last year’s implosion……He was undergoing electric shock therapy to grin and bear it when Rick doesn’t take a TO when he’s supposed to….

I love that 4th grade play of the handoff/pick to JH at the top off the key….
by Patrick Bateman on Feb 9, 2011 8:38 PM CST reply actions
What a gorgeous move by TT. Great body control for a 6’9" guy….
by Patrick Bateman on Feb 9, 2011 8:42 PM CST reply actions
Dogus! He’s determined to get a 20 spot tonight….
by Patrick Bateman on Feb 9, 2011 8:47 PM CST reply actions
Hamilton is butter. If we stop turning the ball over, we’d be up by 20.
by mpayne on Feb 9, 2011 8:48 PM CST reply actions
It’s a good thing our under 2 foot shots are falling tonight since the OU defense is really locking down nothing…
by Diego on Feb 9, 2011 8:50 PM CST reply actions
What was Cade Davis thinking? That was horrible defense.
by mpayne on Feb 9, 2011 8:50 PM CST reply actions
North Carolina up 14 at the half over Duke should help our RPI

UNC making us look really good as of late too.
by Savage Henry on Feb 9, 2011 8:54 PM CST reply actions
UNC is absolutely destroying Duke. It’s been a bit of a shock to watch.
Check out my thoughts at M2M.
by jc25 on Feb 9, 2011 8:54 PM CST reply actions
Another plus for UNC winning is that it’s a little added 1 seed cushion when Duke goes down. I still have to assume we drop at least one somewhere, so the more Duke, BYU, Notre Dame, SDSU etc lose the better.
by Diego on Feb 9, 2011 8:57 PM CST reply actions
Don’t check out my thoughts. Boy I was wrong. I’m going to flay Duke in my elite 8 series because of it.
by Trips Right on Feb 9, 2011 8:57 PM CST reply actions
I think the 1 seed could come down to TX vs. KU in B12 tourney.
by Savage Henry on Feb 9, 2011 9:07 PM CST reply actions
Dogus is dominating. Unfortunately, three of our guys knock the subsequent defensive rebound out of bounds.
by mpayne on Feb 9, 2011 9:11 PM CST reply actions
If we can get 8+ from Turkish we’ll be impossible to beat.
by Savage Henry on Feb 9, 2011 9:11 PM CST reply actions
I think she’s coming up on stage 3. Bryndon to stage 3.
by Magnificent Bastard on Feb 9, 2011 9:11 PM CST reply actions
If both teams win out until then I don’t see how both aren’t 1 seeds. Pitt and Ohio St are practically locks, SDSU and BYU still play each other again at least once, Duke losing tonight + @ UNC last game of the season, and the Big East beating each other up. It seems that Texas and KU can probably both still drop a game and be alright.
by Diego on Feb 9, 2011 9:11 PM CST reply actions
Holy crap Rutgers beat Nova. Thought Rutgers was down 5 with 6 seconds left.
by dick on Feb 9, 2011 9:12 PM CST reply actions
Who the hell is Bryndon Manzer?
Joel Klatt’s alter ego.
by jc25 on Feb 9, 2011 9:12 PM CST reply actions
Rutgers hit a 3 plus a foul with 1 second left when down 3. Ouch.
by Diego on Feb 9, 2011 9:14 PM CST reply actions
Bryndon and Carter….didn’t know Clipper’s wingmen doubled as ESPN’s D team for calling college hoops. Keep it up ’Skanks!
by marqroid on Feb 9, 2011 9:14 PM CST reply actions
The horns look silky smooth, but they tend to lose a little focus when up by 15 or more. We shall see how the second half goes, first four minutes truly dictates the rest of the game.
by Stavmar on Feb 9, 2011 9:17 PM CST reply actions
Wow, Nova didn’t touch that guy either. Someone had the moneyline…
by Diego on Feb 9, 2011 9:18 PM CST reply actions
We can be disoriented on offense when our defense pwns face!
by Marcus Stavchansky on Feb 9, 2011 9:21 PM CST reply actions
Diego, looked like he hit the elbow. Check out L. Jon Wertheim’s new book Scorecasting with the chapter on omission bias.
by jc25 on Feb 9, 2011 9:22 PM CST reply actions
If KU doesn’t get a win over us I’m not sure the would deserve a 1. Not a lot of big wins on their schedule.
by Savage Henry on Feb 9, 2011 9:22 PM CST reply actions
A few possessions ago Dogus blocked the shot of the OU Center.
by Art Vandelay on Feb 9, 2011 9:23 PM CST reply actions
Duke within 5. Nolan Smith is a hoss. Some 3’s went down. UNC looks like they have a bit of sea legs.
by jc25 on Feb 9, 2011 9:25 PM CST reply actions
JH makes scoring look so easy….almost as easy as KD…..
by Patrick Bateman on Feb 9, 2011 9:26 PM CST reply actions
Is it acceptable for me to switch to the UNC Dookies game?
by Diego on Feb 9, 2011 9:26 PM CST reply actions
Nolan Smith is legit, I agree. Regardless of how the Duke/Carolina game turns out, I think Duke is still a bad matchup for us.
by mpayne on Feb 9, 2011 9:27 PM CST reply actions
@mpayne, when is duke never a bad matchup? When we will we get a win against them? It is always frustrating watching us play them, I almost feel that Coach K has voodoo on Ricky B.
by Stavmar on Feb 9, 2011 9:31 PM CST reply actions
@marcus stavchhansky – not sure what you’re asking me…we haven’t beaten duke in way too long, but i’m talking about this year. more specifically, i’m referencing the analysis on March to March that a matchup against duke falls into our wheelhouse.
by mpayne on Feb 9, 2011 9:37 PM CST reply actions
TT’s free throw stroke looks good tonight (just as he misses). it’s got much better arc than previous games.
by mpayne on Feb 9, 2011 9:39 PM CST reply actions
I like Texas’ chances against Duke. Nolan Smith is their only source of playmaking offense, and he’s not a natural distributor. Doge would absolutely lock him down. You can maybe buy minutes with J’Covan’s girth as well. The Plumlees look like a slower Matt Hill right now, if that’s possible. Singler’s a problem, but if JH is focused on defense like he’s been recently, that works for me. He’s also a more dynamic scorer than Singler.
I’d rather face Duke than UNC, for what it’s worth.
Now if Irving were to come back…that’s a whole ’nother scenario.

Guys, I need some good smack talk for Baylor. Got a buddy who scored courtside seats.
Help me, help you, help the Longhorns, as if they need it.
So, drop a mainline in my vein and give me some good BU smack lay on the little green men.

jc, completely agree. If JH plays D and locks down Singler’s pasty white-ass like he did Middleton (who is much more athletic), I think we handle Duke. UNC got up on them big early only to squander it, and I believe us to be much better defensively, just as athletic and much more consistent with our focus.

It’s so quiet at Lloyd Noble Center you can hear the wind sweepin’ down the plain.
by Art Vandelay on Feb 9, 2011 9:47 PM CST reply actions
That offensive set there was sick…up 20 and still executing and playing team ball
by marqroid on Feb 9, 2011 9:49 PM CST reply actions
Duke can give us problems with their defense and I’m concerned about frontcourt size and depth issues against them. Dogus may be able to handle Nolan Smith, but I’m not thinking that’s any sort of gimme matchup. Seth Curry is a threat, too.
I’m not buying on UNC. I think this is the same team that we already beat, not better. Meanwhile, we’re better than when we played them in Greensboro.

Seth Rogan just blocked Gary Johnson’s shot.

by Savage Henry on Feb 9, 2011 9:54 PM CST reply actions
mpayne, I’m loving Smith, no doubt. But we won’t be guarding him with Jai Lucas like Roy is trying to do with Marshall.

Additionally, something to the effect of you better share the basketball or your teammate will murder you..

Okay, I admit it, I was watching Duke UNC. Rewatching the Texas game right now. I’ll have my thoughts posted tomorrow morning.

One question I have is why does Cade davis wear wrist bands. And he actually wears them down on his fucking wrists. Not mid-forearm like Jordan. What the hell is wrong with that kid?
by Trips Right on Feb 9, 2011 10:38 PM CST reply actions
“What the hell is wrong with that kid?”
Oh where do I start? Oh yeah, he goes to fuckin OU.

“But we won’t be guarding him with Jai Lucas like Roy is trying to do with Marshall.”
Marshall is 6’3" 190 lbs and not nearly as gnomish so not sure where you are going with that comparison. He isn’t a great on the ball defender but he’s no Jai. But then who is?
