Travis Lewis Out for 8 Weeks?
The news is spreading fast that OU senior LB Travis Lewis has suffered a broken bone in his foot and will miss eight weeks. Looks like future stud Corey Nelson will get the call.

For what it's worth, Travis Lewis has said several times that Corey Nelson will be better than he is. Now we'll find out if he's right.

Says he could return by the RRS. Obviously I don’t wish injuries on anyone, but not facing Lewis might make getting over the hump this season a little easier.

Good thing he came back for his senior season.

Interesting.
I’d like not face him, but I don’t know if anyone will challenge them in the next 8 weeks (FSU could be good eventually, but I don’t see it this year). That gives Corey Nelson more experience, and Travis Lewis time to be healthy for us.
I don’t see an upside for Texas, but I’d like to.

Agreed. Maybe Stoops should have everybody break a foot before the RRS.
Come on man. The kid is going to go 8 weeks without playing, practicing, or conditioning. None of that is good for OU.

Obviously, you’ve never met Jerry Schmidt.
I am hearing they may freeze him like Han Solo.

I seriously doubt that Lewis will be back to 100% in time for the RRS. He’s big guy, that is extremely fast. The more weight that, that bone has to support, the longer the healing process (just ask T. Allen or M. Walters).

haha so FSU isn’t going to challenge OU, but the RRS will be a challenge for them? Classic.

Pretty much how it went last year, right?

OU is going to need all the firepower they can muster to stop the Fighting Texas A&M Aggie Offense guided by the Supreme Commander Mike F’n Sherman.

Outstanding

Their defense just went from mediocre to 2008 quality. They’ll win the conference again as usual but they’re miles away from competing for a national championship. Look for them to get buttfucked by the SEC’s #2 in their BCS bowl game.

Rumors on the twitterverse that Ronnell Lewis might be ruled academically ineligible as well.
Holy shit that would be awesome, worst Stoops defense ever?

Better yet,
Look for them to lose all their starters and go 5-7.
Now THAT would suck.

if they give up on their coaches, they’ll do well to go 5-7.

I knew the UT fans could make me feel better about that. Good work boys.

It’s not possible for a team with that much talent year-in and year-out and that good of a coaching staff to go 5-7, is it?
Going 8-5 and winning a bowl game after losing all their star players to injury in ‘09 was as low as it gets—I mean, this is OU we’re talking about.

it sure seems like their linebacker core is thinning while ours is establishing great depth. I like the trend. Now the question remains … which one of our linebackers is going to knock Landry out of the game from hitting his ass so hard on the turf?
