Thought you all might enjoy reading my take on the prospects for 2011 Auburn Football that I put up on the Mothership.

Though they're currently ranked in the AP, USA Today, and Sports Illustrated preseason polls, I think that's lazy halo effect and I believe they'll be fortunate to go 7-5 and finish 4th or 5th in the SEC West. That's a 7 game swing from last year's 14-0 and one of the more dramatic changes in fortune for a national champion in the last few decades.

Human psychology is a curious thing and though Auburn fans logically understand what they've lost, they won't fully process that fact until mid-October. Seeing a team dressed just the like unbeatable guys from last year getting worked over is a test of cognitive dissonance.
