RGIII and Baylor Killing the Horned Frogs ... oh wait, it's Baylor

17/20/323 with 5 TD passes halfway through third quarter. 15 straight completions. Kendall Wright torched the Horned Frogs in the first half with 8/159/3TD(2rec, 1 pass).

Star-divide

47-23 Baylor.

The Casey Pachall era has not gotten off to a good start for the Horned Frogs.

Baylor looks very impressive so far. Good test for Diaz, maybe a nice goodbye to A&M.

by Rex Chapman's Black Girlfriend on Sep 2, 2011 9:54 PM CDT reply actions

TCU scores with a 2 pt conversion.

47-31.

Waymon James was a nice pickup for Patterson.

by Vasherized on Sep 2, 2011 9:55 PM CDT reply actions

Think the SEC is second guessing itself on choosing the Ags over the Bears yet?

by uthookem on Sep 2, 2011 9:56 PM CDT reply actions

Ganaway has also looked for Baylor at RB. 105 yards rushing.

by Vasherized on Sep 2, 2011 9:58 PM CDT reply actions

I think “Otis” on repeat is being pumped into RG3’s helmet throughout the game.

by texasauteur on Sep 2, 2011 9:58 PM CDT reply actions

Unrelated but JGray 15 carries for 336 w/ 5 td’s mid-3rd….he’s decent

by marqroid on Sep 2, 2011 10:09 PM CDT reply actions

TD Frogs. Baylor being Baylor…give up a 40 yd return and tack on a stupid personal foul after the tackle.

2 pt conversion good.

one score game.

47-39.

by Vasherized on Sep 2, 2011 10:11 PM CDT reply actions

Boyce is a stud.

by Vasherized on Sep 2, 2011 10:11 PM CDT reply actions

margroid,

That’s definitely related. Remember when J Gray was a lock to TCU?

He had 4 carries for 200 yards and 2 TDs in the first quarter. Weatherford sucks though.

by Vasherized on Sep 2, 2011 10:13 PM CDT reply actions

What a train wreck for Baylor.

by Holden on Sep 2, 2011 10:15 PM CDT reply actions

I was worried about Baylor through the first 3 quarters…then I remembered they don’t know jackshit about defense. If you can slow down Kendall Wright you can slow down the Baylor offense. Force RGIII to go to the other guys. They’re decent, but they can’t beat you. And Ganaway? I don’t think he’s for real.

by Gman on Sep 2, 2011 10:15 PM CDT reply actions

Baylor fans look defeated

by Holden on Sep 2, 2011 10:17 PM CDT reply actions

Art Briles has a lot of work to do on his special teams. They’re not too good.

by Gman on Sep 2, 2011 10:18 PM CDT reply actions

Baylor went all GDGD in the 4th. Playing not to lose.

by Rex Chapman's Black Girlfriend on Sep 2, 2011 10:18 PM CDT reply actions

Baylor doing its best to extend a 7 year winless streak against ranked teams.

by Vasherized on Sep 2, 2011 10:18 PM CDT reply actions

Been watching this on Watch ESPN on my handy Win XP box. It’s a fucken game now.

47-39 9 min left – anybody’s game. I love college ball.

Might have to amend the title of this post.

by Vasherized on Sep 2, 2011 10:20 PM CDT reply actions

Baylor holding on for dear life. Good job to take the penalty on Hicks cause that was 6.

by ultralight on Sep 2, 2011 10:22 PM CDT reply actions

BTW, happy to see ESPN put Samantha Steele on LHN…as sideline reporters go, she’s pretty and good.

Damnit! I guess this teaches me for rooting for the Bears. I’ll stick with conference though… Sic ’ em?

No, 2 points now

Patterson: “Game on, Bears”

by Kasey on Sep 2, 2011 10:25 PM CDT reply actions

Wow, Baylor…you are REALLY BAD on defense. Epically bad. If TCU’s kicker hadn’t been so piss-poor, they’d be leading right now.

by Gman on Sep 2, 2011 10:26 PM CDT reply actions

TCU scored 22 points in the last 7 minutes.

47-45.

by Vasherized on Sep 2, 2011 10:27 PM CDT reply actions

Anybody take the over?

by Vasherized on Sep 2, 2011 10:27 PM CDT reply actions

Uh oh…Gilmore just jinxed Baylor

by Gman on Sep 2, 2011 10:28 PM CDT reply actions

FUMBLE HA HA HA HA. TCU ball.

What a fucking meltdown.

by Vasherized on Sep 2, 2011 10:29 PM CDT reply actions

This is why Baylor can’t have nice things.

by Canuck Horn on Sep 2, 2011 10:29 PM CDT reply actions

Too bad for R G 3, he has had a great game

by el barco on Sep 2, 2011 10:30 PM CDT reply actions

RG3 takes some shots when he leaves the pocket and gets slammed down a lot.

Want to see how he comes back if TCU scores here and takes the lead.

by ultralight on Sep 2, 2011 10:32 PM CDT reply actions

Well known fact that Baptists hate defense.

by Big Ern on Sep 2, 2011 10:32 PM CDT reply actions

It’s amazing how bad Baylor’s defensive front is.

FG TCU.

48-47 Horned Frogs.

by Rex Chapman's Black Girlfriend on Sep 2, 2011 10:37 PM CDT reply actions

I am sure Texas won’t have any issues with the Baylor passing game with that young secondary and the coach on the field at safety.

by Davey O'Brien on Sep 2, 2011 10:38 PM CDT reply actions

Choooooooke.

by Gman on Sep 2, 2011 10:39 PM CDT reply actions

Briles! Are you stupid?! Risking your entire season on a pass play to RGIII?

by Gman on Sep 2, 2011 10:40 PM CDT reply actions

I thought Baptists hate drinking and dancing and fun.

by Gman on Sep 2, 2011 10:42 PM CDT reply actions

Baylor kicker not even warming up?

by ultralight on Sep 2, 2011 10:43 PM CDT reply actions

Pretty sure defense can be added to that list, imo.

by Big Ern on Sep 2, 2011 10:43 PM CDT reply actions

Baylor kicker already missed 2 XPs.

by Gman on Sep 2, 2011 10:44 PM CDT reply actions

Well, well! The Baptists might be drinking something stronger than Kool-aid tonight and dancing in the streets.

by Gman on Sep 2, 2011 10:45 PM CDT reply actions

Wait…did I just see a Baylor student cross himself? Just kidding!

by Gman on Sep 2, 2011 10:49 PM CDT reply actions

Baylor pick and game. Ugly ugly

by Canuck Horn on Sep 2, 2011 10:51 PM CDT reply actions

Game over…Baylor’s prayers answered. Good for the Big-12 to have their rep beat the Rose Bowl champs.

Whataburger gonna be jumpin in Waco tonight!

by ultralight on Sep 2, 2011 10:52 PM CDT reply actions

Looks like we’re in for a wild season.

by Vasherized on Sep 2, 2011 10:54 PM CDT reply actions

Throw in speculation that OU may announce a decision to leave the conference as early as Monday, and we are off to a fascinating start.

I think I saw Dan Beebe’s picture on the side of a milk carton today.

by Big Ern on Sep 2, 2011 11:05 PM CDT reply actions

Indeed Vasherized…indeed. We just don’t know what we have and may not until OU. The Beas and Cyclones are a couple of teams we need to gain some measure of revenge against this season. These are teams we do not lose to and were a bigger gauge of how badly our ‘10 season went then the losses to OU, OSU, and aTm. If we’re to reestablish ourselves as a premier college football team, we need to win against the Baylors and Iowa States again.

We know what Baylor has offensively…and earlier tonight I was worried Baylor might have enough to beat us again. But then the cracks started showing and a closer look reveals that on defense and special teams they aren’t very good at all. Like tonight, they’ll have to score a bunch of points to win games. Their defense is going to put a lot of pressure on RGIII and the O to make no mistakes and score 40 points a game. They looked very beatable by the end of the game.

But, until we see what our offense looks like, it’s still a loseable game for Texas. The key is the new ground game. If it’s as good as advertised, I like our chances because the key to beating Baylor is to keep their O on the sidelines. Bottom line is if we can control the ball and the clock we will beat Baylor.

by Gman on Sep 2, 2011 11:26 PM CDT reply actions

Beas? I must have been thinking of Aunt Bea of Mayberry fame. Always had the hots for her..she’s kickin’ it old school in the GILF department. LOL! Meant BEARS

by Gman on Sep 2, 2011 11:28 PM CDT reply actions

Since Baylor football is about to be eternally screwed, I hope they can exit the BCS with RG3 winning the Heisman.

by Native Texan on Sep 3, 2011 7:28 AM CDT reply actions

TCU was screwed as soon as their o lineman and the qb kissed. I know this generation is pretty soft, but, seriously?

by RS on Sep 3, 2011 7:52 AM CDT reply actions

funniest thing here for me was somebody thinking the sec wants an addition that plays good football. probably just an ironic comment, but amusing all the same.

by yeh on Sep 3, 2011 7:56 AM CDT reply actions

Took the over at 56 on thursday and baylor points + 4 FRIDAY. Sweatin’ the last seconds

by Longonhorns on Sep 3, 2011 8:07 AM CDT reply actions

Agreed with whomever commented about Briles = stupid. That pass play to RGIII over the middle was asinine. What a huge risk to take in game 1.

by ADT2 on Sep 3, 2011 8:46 AM CDT reply actions

funny thing about stupid. when it works, it’s brilliant. have you ever considered the legacy of dkr if randy peschel hadn’t caught that pass?

by yeh on Sep 3, 2011 9:02 AM CDT reply actions

Britt Hager’s son Bryce (#44) got into the game for Baylor. Redshirted last year, listed now at 6’-1’’,230 lbs. Watching him fly from sideline to sideline and stuffing a run at the goal line sure reminded me of his dad.

Another recruiting miss by the horns.

by 3gentxn on Sep 3, 2011 10:16 AM CDT reply actions

Baylor just abused the same TCU corner all night (poor guy). It seemed like as soon as TCU figured out how to slow RG3 down (i.e. hit him) they quit doing it.

Be interesting to see what they do against a legit defense.

nicknames are so gay (homo).

Bears are so high from the attention that they haven’t realized what a historic choke job they were on the verge of.

A completed 12 yard pass and FG and they are again in their rightful spot as national laughing stock .

A very thin line.

by lowdenswain on Sep 3, 2011 11:41 AM CDT reply actions

Great advert for college football unlike the Akron / OSU and Mizzou / Miami (o) games that the UAE’s cable package is currently treating me to. Guess beggars really can’t be choosers.

by EnglishAg on Sep 3, 2011 11:53 AM CDT reply actions

Does anyone know a radio station website i can listen to the game on?

by UT07 on Sep 3, 2011 3:45 PM CDT reply actions

You can replay the archived game on ESPN3.com (if your Internet uses a compatible broadband carrier such as Verizon FIOS).

by PoofyBevo on Sep 3, 2011 4:03 PM CDT reply actions

I’m so glad I record that amazing game. RGIII was jaw-dropping, and I’m not convinced TCU made an adjustment that “shut down” Baylor’s offense (deep passing attack). Baylor went extremely conservative and TCU loaded up to stop the run back to back drives. Once it got close you could see the pressure building on Baylor and they just didn’t handle it well. Great win for the B12.

I have been surfing on-line more than 3 hours today, but I never found any interesting article like yours. It is beautiful price enough for me. Personally, if all website owners and bloggers made just right content material as you did, the net might be much more helpful than ever before.
