Clemson putting it on Auburn – not the last time we’ll see that this year.
by nobis60 on Sep 17, 2011 2:28 PM CDT reply actions
Yeah, Auburn’s defense is getting piped. 6-6 imo.
by bigdukesix on Sep 17, 2011 2:32 PM CDT reply actions
Speaking of piped, Kansas is losing 66-17 to Ga Tech. That’s one game on our schedule I feel pretty comfortable penciling in as a win.

Bob Davie is starting to look like Clint Eastwood.
by nobis60 on Sep 17, 2011 2:36 PM CDT reply actions
Bob Davie is calling our game for ABC/ESPN. I encourage everyone who has the means to hit mute and turn on Craig Way.
For your own sanity.
by craigbiggiosdirtyuniform on Sep 17, 2011 2:37 PM CDT reply actions
So with Pitt and Syracuse going to the ACC if we took Kansas with us it would be a kick ass basketball league.
by Steve Ross on Sep 17, 2011 2:37 PM CDT reply actions
Why the hell is the game blacked out here in Chicago??
by JabbatheHug on Sep 17, 2011 2:37 PM CDT reply actions
Interesting, Ole Miss is getting destroyed by Vandy.
by Davey O'Brien on Sep 17, 2011 2:38 PM CDT reply actions
The sight of Neuweasel has raised my Longhorn wroth. We need vengeance.
by nobis60 on Sep 17, 2011 2:39 PM CDT reply actions
bigdukesix- May want to try espn360…?
Anyone have a stream?
by craigbiggiosdirtyuniform on Sep 17, 2011 2:40 PM CDT reply actions
CZW: I know – I have it switched the ESPN channel, but DirecTV is telling me it’s blacked out.
by JabbatheHug on Sep 17, 2011 2:41 PM CDT reply actions
Watching it on vacay in Colorado with my folks. This is going to be my first sober Longhorn game in probably five years. Someone hold me.
by nobis60 on Sep 17, 2011 2:41 PM CDT reply actions
Houston Nutt could be fired this week — he is in deep trouble at Ole Miss
by srr50 on Sep 17, 2011 2:42 PM CDT reply actions
Nice start – we get that kind of movement all day it’s going to be a blowout.
by nobis60 on Sep 17, 2011 2:43 PM CDT reply actions
An offensive line that fires out and a running back that falls forward — who knew?
by srr50 on Sep 17, 2011 2:43 PM CDT reply actions
Damn – looked like we had an edge set on 2nd down
by nobis60 on Sep 17, 2011 2:44 PM CDT reply actions
Grass. Can we spend some cash and get some grass at DKR.

Carrington!!!! I wasn’t even finished cursing out Justin Tucker yet!

Carrington= Clipper Cooper’s roommate?

We must get them to try and beat us through the air, which they won’t thanks to our young secondary.

by Longhorn NY on Sep 17, 2011 2:48 PM CDT reply actions
No one is going to try to beat us through the air this year.
by CZW on Sep 17, 2011 2:48 PM CDT reply actions
Is that a great interception, a truly horrific throw, or a great diving catch on a truly horrific throw?
by Davey O'Brien on Sep 17, 2011 2:48 PM CDT reply actions
I just can’t get on board with switching QBs in the same set of downs.
by nobis60 on Sep 17, 2011 2:49 PM CDT reply actions
did they just say richard greico is the backup for ucla? emilllllllllllio!
by mattdubya on Sep 17, 2011 2:49 PM CDT reply actions
I’d love to see the end zone/coach cam view on that one to see the route combo that completely bamboozled the Bruin secondary.
by nobis60 on Sep 17, 2011 2:52 PM CDT reply actions
I need LonghornScott to explain what a TE is and its proper function. It’s been too long since I’ve seen one.
by craigbiggiosdirtyuniform on Sep 17, 2011 2:52 PM CDT reply actions
Good throw by Case – obviously DJ was absurdly open, but he threw across his body on the run and hit him right in stride.
by nobis60 on Sep 17, 2011 2:52 PM CDT reply actions
We used to call that play 0-16. Don’t ask me why. Worked really really well on first few possessions.
by Longhorn NY on Sep 17, 2011 2:53 PM CDT reply actions
Dont you have to declare a te as eligible?
by Castle AAARGHH!!!!! on Sep 17, 2011 2:53 PM CDT reply actions
Davie : this is shaping up to be a low scoring game….
Next play: BAM!!! Touchdown Texas.
by triplehorn on Sep 17, 2011 2:53 PM CDT reply actions
It started raining at my drought stricken house Houston about 4 minutes before a Texas tight end caught a touchdown. I lost that bet.
by nerf herder on Sep 17, 2011 2:53 PM CDT reply actions
But case has a weak arm, he can’t play, bla, bla, bla….. Are there any more McCoys?
by Holden on Sep 17, 2011 2:54 PM CDT reply actions
A TD early in the 1st started by an interception and culminating in a TD pass to a tight end? Oh, hell yeah!
by Texan in Oregon on Sep 17, 2011 2:54 PM CDT reply actions
What would a Neuheisel coach cam look like?
by mookiepatookis on Sep 17, 2011 2:54 PM CDT reply actions
Dear Kenny,
I would very much like to see you destroy a Bruin today.
by craigbiggiosdirtyuniform on Sep 17, 2011 2:56 PM CDT reply actions
I love having a qb with vision!!!!
Its been over a year
by hecox20 on Sep 17, 2011 2:56 PM CDT reply actions
That’s great coverage – he won’t complete a pass in a window like that again this season.
by nobis60 on Sep 17, 2011 2:57 PM CDT reply actions
Our DE needs to step in up. We need more edge pressure.
by craigbiggiosdirtyuniform on Sep 17, 2011 2:58 PM CDT reply actions
Lead early is huge. Confidence with all these frosh is muy importante.
Damn… Case looked like Colt with that little slide out of the pocket and throw on the run.
by Art Vandelay on Sep 17, 2011 3:01 PM CDT reply actions
RS will be happy that Randall hit the QB.
by mookiepatookis on Sep 17, 2011 3:02 PM CDT reply actions
Randall! Diaz drew one up that outright befuddled the right side of their OL.
by nobis60 on Sep 17, 2011 3:03 PM CDT reply actions
Can’t wait to see you guys break that one down in the review.
by MajorTexasFan on Sep 17, 2011 3:03 PM CDT reply actions
So is the moral that if your fraternity brothers are paying your salary as head coach of your alma mater you and your staff don’t actually have to try and coach?
by Davey O'Brien on Sep 17, 2011 3:03 PM CDT reply actions
Love the look on Prince’s face as he hit the dirt.
by mookiepatookis on Sep 17, 2011 3:04 PM CDT reply actions
they may rule fumble. Ball was loose before arm went forward.
by Art Vandelay on Sep 17, 2011 3:04 PM CDT reply actions
Man I think that ball’s out before his arm comes forward but not likely that they’ll overturn.
by nobis60 on Sep 17, 2011 3:04 PM CDT reply actions
Manny Diaz’s line adjustment was awesome. He moved Randall outside and brought LB’s up the middle A gap and their line couldn’t figure out what happened.
by craigbiggiosdirtyuniform on Sep 17, 2011 3:04 PM CDT reply actions
And there is that Freshman mistake. No biggie. He will shake it off because Shipley is that type of player. Let’s get this back D.
by ValleyLonghorn on Sep 17, 2011 3:05 PM CDT reply actions
Good Lord, Jaxon. I never would have guessed.
by 53 Veer Pass on Sep 17, 2011 3:05 PM CDT reply actions
Lol i think i thought Shipley was genetically incapable of making a mistake.
by SmuHorn on Sep 17, 2011 3:06 PM CDT reply actions
There we go. Our defense got the ball back. I’m really loving this defensive unit.
by ValleyLonghorn on Sep 17, 2011 3:07 PM CDT reply actions
i’m loving the hands on our DBs right now….and MB might go over 100 today if he keeps running that hard.
by SmuHorn on Sep 17, 2011 3:08 PM CDT reply actions
Oh my GOD this run game is night and damn day from anything we’ve seen in years.
by nobis60 on Sep 17, 2011 3:09 PM CDT reply actions
Manny being Manny. I get the feeling the defense is improving with every series.
It’s gonna be a fun season.
by Art Vandelay on Sep 17, 2011 3:09 PM CDT reply actions
Case should have checked out of that 2nd down play
by craigbiggiosdirtyuniform on Sep 17, 2011 3:10 PM CDT reply actions
Nice moves by our Big Boi, Cody Johnson. Great Run!

by SmuHorn on Sep 17, 2011 3:11 PM CDT reply actions
I get the feeling UCLA will be more than happy to lay down if we keep the pressure on a bit longer
by nobis60 on Sep 17, 2011 3:11 PM CDT reply actions
Cody Johnson is doing what we were told he would do last year. I like it.
by CZW on Sep 17, 2011 3:12 PM CDT reply actions
Run game getting traction much earlier than the first two games.
by nobis60 on Sep 17, 2011 3:12 PM CDT reply actions
Love to see DJ Grant and Mccoy developing some chemistry. That was a somewhat similar play to the 4th down rollout last week
by ChicagoHorn on Sep 17, 2011 3:13 PM CDT reply actions
No. .11 for UCLA trying to chase down Goodwin was high comedy
by mookiepatookis on Sep 17, 2011 3:13 PM CDT reply actions
I saw Goodwin’s track speed on that last play.
Touchdown Whittacker!
by UTomlinson on Sep 17, 2011 3:14 PM CDT reply actions
This type of playcalling is orgasmic. Wow that last play was probably the one JC was talking about earlier this week.
by ValleyLonghorn on Sep 17, 2011 3:14 PM CDT reply actions
Traction??? Running game is KILLING IT!!!!
Hell yes!!!
by Longhorn NY on Sep 17, 2011 3:14 PM CDT reply actions
Man, funny to think about what Texas Longhorn program can look like if optimized.
We haven’t ever had that since Mack’s been here.
by Sailor Ripley on Sep 17, 2011 3:15 PM CDT reply actions
Weeeeeee!!!! Gonna be a fun year folks. Coaching matters.
by Art Vandelay on Sep 17, 2011 3:15 PM CDT reply actions
Man…the previews for this game had me nervous about the run game. I remember it saying we had to attack the perimeter…and its working like a charm. Their LBs are slower than molasses.
by SmuHorn on Sep 17, 2011 3:15 PM CDT reply actions
i think nobis is right. they’re gonna lay down.
by mattdubya on Sep 17, 2011 3:16 PM CDT reply actions
I look forward to Prince trying to throw his way back into this game.
by mookiepatookis on Sep 17, 2011 3:16 PM CDT reply actions
Take a look at their LB’s next D series. They have no idea where to make their first move. Confused by the HarsinWhite trickery IMHO.
by craigbiggiosdirtyuniform on Sep 17, 2011 3:17 PM CDT reply actions
Well, the good news is that he ran that for 40 yards and a TD in Austin last year.
by mookiepatookis on Sep 17, 2011 3:18 PM CDT reply actions
“coach Davies” on the touchdown play : “good design”
Good Lord, I have to pinch myself. I loves me some Harsinwhite.
by fbomb on Sep 17, 2011 3:18 PM CDT reply actions
Nice job whoever drew that flag. Gotta keep contain on Prince.
by nobis60 on Sep 17, 2011 3:18 PM CDT reply actions
This team is getting better with each week. It is getting more confident in the systems on both offense and defense.
by srr50 on Sep 17, 2011 3:19 PM CDT reply actions
Prince looks like he runs a 4.1 as soon as he decides to haul ass for the sideline – looks like Chris Warren as a Cowboy.
by nobis60 on Sep 17, 2011 3:19 PM CDT reply actions
There’s some DE pressure – and it pays dividends.
by nobis60 on Sep 17, 2011 3:20 PM CDT reply actions
Our secondary is all over them. This unit is going to be sick in a couple years!
by UTomlinson on Sep 17, 2011 3:21 PM CDT reply actions
Nobis- Did you see who it was?
by craigbiggiosdirtyuniform on Sep 17, 2011 3:21 PM CDT reply actions
So is Brehaut supposedly the “passing QB?”
by mookiepatookis on Sep 17, 2011 3:22 PM CDT reply actions
Bob Davie already calling for the hook on prince. Haven’t seen many commentators ask for the back up qb in the first quarter
by Holden on Sep 17, 2011 3:22 PM CDT reply actions

by RS on Sep 17, 2011 3:25 PM CDT reply actions
Great throw by Ash. Looks like he has great arm strength.
by ValleyLonghorn on Sep 17, 2011 3:26 PM CDT reply actions
I think I know where Gilbert can transfer to if he likes great weather, beautiful women, a BCS conference, and pretty low expectations.
by Davey O'Brien on Sep 17, 2011 3:26 PM CDT reply actions
Kansas will be the worst team we play this year, but UCLA sure is trying to give them a run for their money.
by srr50 on Sep 17, 2011 3:29 PM CDT reply actions
Even our school commercial kicks ass. Great start.
by Sailor Ripley on Sep 17, 2011 3:29 PM CDT reply actions
Runs in for a TD without a shoe!!! MB is a beast!
by ValleyLonghorn on Sep 17, 2011 3:30 PM CDT reply actions
Brown is a bad, bad man.
Now who else panicked and thought that shoe was the ball?
by nobis60 on Sep 17, 2011 3:30 PM CDT reply actions
Hahahah! Ho the hell did the shoe pop up like that
by ChicagoHorn on Sep 17, 2011 3:31 PM CDT reply actions
I just picked up Mal Brown for my NFL fantasy team.
I’ll be the first to say it. 66-3.
by Art Vandelay on Sep 17, 2011 3:31 PM CDT reply actions
ucla sucks so bad. can see us hanging 40-50 on them. malcolm is a boss
by mattdubya on Sep 17, 2011 3:31 PM CDT reply actions
I’m with you nobis, I started yelling then quickly realized he was still bulldozing people over.
by ValleyLonghorn on Sep 17, 2011 3:32 PM CDT reply actions
Malcolm Brown is the truth ladies and gentlemen.
by 2xHorn on Sep 17, 2011 3:33 PM CDT reply actions
I thought the shoe was a fumble.
Great run. He is showing he is something special.
by Big Horn on Sep 17, 2011 3:33 PM CDT reply actions
I’m cautiously optimistic about this game.
by Texan in Oregon on Sep 17, 2011 3:33 PM CDT reply actions
Thank god I’m graduating a semester late. I get to watch the 2013 season at DKR.
by CZW on Sep 17, 2011 3:33 PM CDT reply actions
So far the best, most exciting first half of Texas football I’ve watched in a long, long time. I know UCLA is a sub-par team, but it’s been a while since we’ve punished teams for playing poor football. The future looks bright.
by AZHorn on Sep 17, 2011 3:33 PM CDT reply actions
Special teams are still too interesting for my taste though.
by 2xHorn on Sep 17, 2011 3:34 PM CDT reply actions
I like that Mal takes off a shoe before kicking ass.
by Sailor Ripley on Sep 17, 2011 3:35 PM CDT reply actions
This has been fun — but what’s really fun is thinking about Malcolm Brown and Jonathan Gray in the same backfield.
by srr50 on Sep 17, 2011 3:37 PM CDT reply actions
we’ve been fine all day up the middle until right now. gotta keep the intensity up. plenty of stuff to work on still…hope the foot gets back on the gas defensively and stays on it on o
by mattdubya on Sep 17, 2011 3:37 PM CDT reply actions
Alright D, let’s stay focused. A lot of time left.
by SmuHorn on Sep 17, 2011 3:40 PM CDT reply actions
So when do we find out just how good this Texas team truly is this year?
by Davey O'Brien on Sep 17, 2011 3:42 PM CDT reply actions
Ugh. They’ve killed us on the ground this drive.
by 53 Veer Pass on Sep 17, 2011 3:42 PM CDT reply actions
Our D needs to regroup and remember their assignments. DT’s need to keep up the intensity and the DE’s need to stay home.
by craigbiggiosdirtyuniform on Sep 17, 2011 3:44 PM CDT reply actions
D was pattin’ itself on the back on that drive.
by Palmettohorn on Sep 17, 2011 3:44 PM CDT reply actions
Keenan Robinson is a stud and will play at the next level… but he is out of position in the middle.
by Art Vandelay on Sep 17, 2011 3:45 PM CDT reply actions
Can’t give free first downs. Have to get off the field there – penalties will kill you.

by craigbiggiosdirtyuniform on Sep 17, 2011 3:48 PM CDT reply actions
Wish Case had taken his free five yards rather than make an ill-advised toss. Time to see if the D has straightened things out, and a dose of #33 might not go amiss.
by nobis60 on Sep 17, 2011 3:50 PM CDT reply actions
Thanks Matt. I was hoping all the practice reports translated into run stuffing but I’ll wait for the BC breakdown to see what is happening with our run D.

yo….DJ Grant is looking like Case’s David Thomas right now. I’m liking it.
by SmuHorn on Sep 17, 2011 4:02 PM CDT reply actions
Case bails way too early but he keeps his eyes downfield
by RS on Sep 17, 2011 4:02 PM CDT reply actions

by 53 Veer Pass on Sep 17, 2011 4:05 PM CDT reply actions

by Random Bruin alum on Sep 17, 2011 4:09 PM CDT reply actions
Anybody else thinking that Texas demolishing UCLA may be a nice little (big?) bonus in the midst of the awkward re-alignment tension?
by Jabba T. Hug on Sep 17, 2011 4:10 PM CDT reply actions
Not a cheap shot, but I’m fine with the penalty call. Goodwin gets a little lower and uses a little bit better technique, its a clean shot. It was a good hit but it was sloopy and therefore dangerous and therefore a penalty. Not malicious or cheap though.
by withaplum on Sep 17, 2011 4:10 PM CDT reply actions

by 53 Veer Pass on Sep 17, 2011 4:12 PM CDT reply actions
Nobis60-
yeah, i’m not understanding the free field position either. Are they still scared of that return…that was called back bc of a holding?
by SmuHorn on Sep 17, 2011 4:12 PM CDT reply actions
Wow! Neuheisel sounds pretty frustrated with Mr. McCoy
by vcb on Sep 17, 2011 4:13 PM CDT reply actions
That is actually called a block, you might be confused because after watching the first half your team hasn’t practiced blocking or tackling this season.
by Davey O'Brien on Sep 17, 2011 4:13 PM CDT reply actions
I’m gonna have some crackers and Brehaut as a hors d’oeuvre.
by Art Vandelay on Sep 17, 2011 4:13 PM CDT reply actions
paraphrase of Neuheisel to Samantha Steele:
“We’re trying really hard. That little kid they have at QB is using devilry. He throws it and the ball magically finds the receiver who is open. We shall spend half-time using the blood of Gary Beban to construct magical amulets for our secondary.”
by Jabba T. Hug on Sep 17, 2011 4:14 PM CDT reply actions
ucla fan thinking it’s a cheap shot is probably because his team has been runny dogshit for it’s entire existence. DERP YOU CAN’T HIT THAT HARD DERPZ. even if goodwin gets him lower that dude is still laying on the floor clockcleaned cause he didn’t know where the hell he was in relation to the play/goodwin.
by mattdubya on Sep 17, 2011 4:14 PM CDT reply actions
SO….judging from the practice reports of QB play…..and on the field performance…can we say that there is a big difference between practice and the real game?

i’m alright with it if that’s how they’re calling it this year. seems like they’ve been calling any and i mean any sort of violent hit a penalty in the ncaa and nfl this year. i don’t think anyone minds players being protected but at some point they’ve gotta remember guys signed up to play this sport and the sport lends itself to those sorts of hits. it was clean last year and every year before that.

Methinks UCLA prefers PC football, you know, where nobody tackles too hard. They called the infraction strictly because the guy got his bell rung. Very, very PC call LOL…

Just finished watching the game on DVR…Baby Duty!
Oh waiter, I’d like to order a large humble pie, with a side of Crow…extra well done.
Damn fine game management by Case McCoy. I’m on record as an Ash guy (who also did well in his spot duty). Just transplant GG’s arm to Case & we’ve got our manager, er, QB. Have to give credit where it’s due. Case did well.
Other thoughts:
- I’m so happy the Staff finally incorporated the TE into the game plan. I’m also on record for calling for that, as they are a young QB’s best friend. I was calling for Irby to get his 1st reception, little did I know that DJ Grant was going to have his coming out party.
- HarsinWhite devised the PERFECT game plan for both QBs. Way to keep it conservative and adjust as the game wore on.
- The platoon of RB’s (Fozzy, MB1, Cody, DJ, and Bergeron in mop-up duty. Way to break the century mark Malcolm.
- Way to punch UCLA in the mouth and nuts with that 287 yards of rushing!
- When is the last time we had a 100 yrd rusher?
- Manny dialed-up some blitzes “for that ass!” Across the board, the guys did well…Especially the back 7!
- Jaxon and MB1 showed that they are indeed human, but showed poise and grit later in the game.
- I really liked Goodwin’s decleater on the crack back block the sprung Mike Davis.
I think we are in good shape! McCoy-Ash is a very workable combo…Although, with the way that Case managed the game, he deserves the bulk of the snaps against ISU.
Hook ’Em baby!!!!!!!!

Having suffered through a wilderness of non-blocking WR’s for so long, I am extremely EXTREMELY gruntled to see a Decleater-Per-Game happening, and looking forward to an accelerating pace. Bullshit call imo – not a foul.
BYU looks like shit. Disgruntled.

Ash said that Case has “it”. I said the same thing to my kids and grandkids as we were watching the game today. Case is really hard to sack, is able to figure out the right target (under extreme pressure), and throws an accurate and very easy to catch pass. Like Colt, he thrives on chaos and is a play maker.
Colt and Case both have this amazing ability to process seemingly chaotic 3D space and figure out the patterns. This ability is extremely useful both for finding open receivers and open field running. We haven’t seen it yet, but my guess is that Case is pretty good at ad hoc QB draws.
Case throws very well on the run and the coaches should frequently somewhat randomly move the pocket and also have Case roll out a bunch. It will make it even tougher to sack Colt and will be great at setting up blocks for the OL and runs for the runners.

Eschew proper names. “McCoy” and “Shipley”, nada mas.

Bergeron looks very quick for a big guy.
Fozzy looked great today, very quick.
The horns have so much running talent that it is quite easy for them to have excellent runners at every skill position. For example: M. Brown at TB, Cody or Bergeron at FB, Ship, Fozzy, and Goodwin at WR. The foe’s D can’t focus on any single running threat because there are so any different threats to run.

Case really solidified his hold on the starting QB position today. He will be the outright 1st string QB vs ISU and Ash will move to 2nd string QB on the depth chart (as opposed to being ORed with Case).

Case had a very good game today, and Ash was also very effective when he was in the game. I like the fake zone read quick slants that he threw today. He needs to continue to play meaningful snaps. Let’s not regress to the past when the present and future is so bright. Most meaningful stat of this game: we scored 49 points and only threw 19 passes. That’s incomprehensible based on the last three years of rushing futility!
Kenny Vacarro is Michael Huff with a nasty attitude. He owns our defense! With Bryan Harsin in the booth, we have a chance against every team left on our schedule. I’m not selling Diaz short, but can you even comprehend the turnaround in our running game? I’m gonna have a double Sheep Dip neat and go to sleep dreaming of Johnathan Gray and Malcolm Brown on our roster next year.
Iowa State is in deep shit!

Ut07, wasn’t as bad as it sounds, I promise. Game was on a huge screen in the only tent with decent beer on tap. Lots of Horns present, stepped out for music at half and felt like I had it all.
Except for the (lack of) replay, it was really an elegant plan…

Agree that Ash needs to keep playing and developing. One big hit is all it takes to turn Ash into the starting QB. On an O that is so focused on the run, Ash is a big asset at QB (yet another runner that the D has to respect).

Dang – 54-10 and time left for another score? I’m hoping we don’t see Utah anytime soon. USC must be halfway decent… or maybe we just beat the living shit out of BYU and they haven’t recovered yet?

One thing that is impressive about Case is that he is so good at getting us into the right play. One time today it was 3rd and one and UCLA put 8 men in the box. I predicted to my son that Case was going to throw for the first down. Case did throw a little soft pass over the 8 men in the box and it was an easy big completion.

Case (like Colt) seems to thrive on chaos. Against a really good D which our OL is not able to block, the ability to flourish in chaotic situations will be critical. GD’s traditional approach was to assume that the pocket was going to hold up and that the UT QB would have enough time to find one of his 3 or 4 or 5 WRs open downfield. I call this the Maginot Line approach.
The problem, of course, is that the elite D’s always find a way around your Maginot Line (i.e. the OL), thus destroying the foundation of this O strategy. It is great to have a QB with a rocket arm and WRs that run splendid patterns but all is for naught unless the OL can protect that pocket.
Much better to have a QB who can figure out how to attack the excellent D’s weakest point on that play with a quick pass or run and who can extend a play with some adroit scrambling. A QB who throws a soft, easy to catch pass is vastly superior in the short passing game to a QB with a rocket arm who puts too much heat on his short passes. These easy to catch passes make it easier to play explosive runners whose pass catching ability is not their strong point (i.e. turns them into receiving threats, making them multiple dimension threats).
As always, the QB’s best friend is an outstanding run O that forces the foe’s D to deploy run stopping players who have to focus first on stopping the run.

java:
That gif/picture is making the rounds on every OU board. Even we have to appreciate the hilariousness. There’s one thread I know of inspired by it that’s called “Post your face during the FG attempt”. That’s not even the best one. This one has the epic fail facepalm at the end.

Which one is Mack running?

7 turnovers, 2 taken back for scores, and 2 setting up your opponent inside your own ten have a tendency to take a close game at half to a 40+ loss
