Re: Streaming
I have Time Warner internet, but I’ve had success signing up for an att.com internet email account, and then using that to sign into ESPN3. Might try that.

It’s Miller time in my mom’s den, where I just fell out of my chair after reading this nonsense in the B-CS Eagle: “For either of these teams, just beating their rival would make the season a success, which has always been the case.”

What is your realistic dream scenario for the quarterback position tonight? Mine is 15-25, 180 yards, and no more than three turnovers/sacks combined.

Beefeater Gin and and plenty of tonic water. Plenty of thanksgiving leftovers on hand, but i over indulged all day. If i do get hungry i may go with something like grapefruit juice to replace the tonic.

Multiple liters of three kinds of homebrew (a decent IPA, damn good Oktoberfest, and “a hoppy lager”), couple of bottles of Iconoclast, a boneless organic Pinot Grigio, ten or twelve Grolsch and Fischer in swings, cooler of fruits of Victory and New Belgium, along with a Balvenie 15, a Bushmill’s, and a Woodford Reserve… but it ain’t shit without the two youngest sons and families, thanks be to jebus they’re here. Is it kickoff yet?

by RS on Nov 24, 2011 7:21 PM CST reply actions
OK, I am letting my expectations go. When does Mack ever have a team ready for this game? He never has that I can remember. Shocker, Aggie stacking the box, daring us to pass to our non-existent receivers with our non-existent QBs.

Over on the ‘Cosm, I saw certain commenters worrying over the fact that we’ve apparently offered a LOT of receivers. The last two seasons tell me we need every one we can get our hands on.

by Savage Henry on Nov 24, 2011 7:29 PM CST reply actions
Run off tackle for 2 yards, screen pass for 2 yards, incompletion. Nah, we already ran that series twice.
by TexanNick on Nov 24, 2011 7:30 PM CST reply actions
We have not blocked for shit so far. There has been nothing there for the running game. I don’t know what kind of magic you can cook up with these ingredients — we have no big play threats, so we have to dink and dunk and block perfectly, and yet we keep facing 90+ yard fields and our punter is anemic.
by Toadvine on Nov 24, 2011 7:30 PM CST reply actions
Got a bad feeling Case gets his first pick this series.

are we really going to run it when they are blitzing on both sides
by wisconsinhorneybadger on Nov 24, 2011 7:34 PM CST reply actions
Thank you Mack. We are doing our best Greg Davis today. Sideways passes not running to down markers. And Tucker w another 30 yard punt.
by Mysterious Package on Nov 24, 2011 7:34 PM CST reply actions
I can’t believe we don’t have someone in campus that can punt better than that!

by redfoot on Nov 24, 2011 7:37 PM CST reply actions
Nice to see Tannehill get lit up there. This might be the only way to get out of our field position hole.
God, our offense is fucking putrid. 3 3 and outs with no negative plays. That says everything.

Case really has zero, i mean negative pocket presence.
by 2xHorn on Nov 24, 2011 7:41 PM CST reply actions

by Toadvine on Nov 24, 2011 7:41 PM CST reply actions
Goddamn. Ive never felt such abject hopelessness at this point in a football game.
by TexanNick on Nov 24, 2011 7:42 PM CST reply actions
This team at this point of the season is no better than last year’s. Defense is better but overall we still suck
by CD on Nov 24, 2011 7:42 PM CST reply actions
Does Harson know what he is doing?
There isn’t an OC around who could make chicken salad out of this chickenshit of an offense.
by srr50 on Nov 24, 2011 7:42 PM CST reply actions
Our Defense will need to create turnovers in order for us to get the short field and essentially a win.
by ValleyLonghorn on Nov 24, 2011 7:43 PM CST reply actions
Hey,if we hadn’t let them walk down the field on that first series, the one that mattered the most with a pathetic offense, then I would have no complaint.
by Toadvine on Nov 24, 2011 7:44 PM CST reply actions
Byndom so far money on Swope. One of the guys for Aggy I was worried about making an explosive type play.

by Toadvine on Nov 24, 2011 7:45 PM CST reply actions
ags know we can’t pass, just stack against the run
by sonny veatch on Nov 24, 2011 7:45 PM CST reply actions
I agree with srr50. What do people want Harsin to do with these players? Show me the OC that can make due with 1 decent wideout, freshman at every important skill position, a young and inexperienced line, and a rash of injuries, particularly one to the senior leader on the offense who had been getting it done despite all the other deficiencies. Add to that Mack’s meddling with who plays QB, and you’re going to have no offense.
by redfoot on Nov 24, 2011 7:45 PM CST reply actions
One great thing about McCoy’s arm, is that it’s so bad that the defender’s underestimate just how short it’s going to be, and fail to get INTs
by redfoot on Nov 24, 2011 7:46 PM CST reply actions
If you don’t understand just how lousy we have recruited offensively, that 3rd down throw should tell you everything you need to know. Harsin doesn’t have anyone close to what he wants/needs at QB.

by TexanNick on Nov 24, 2011 7:49 PM CST reply actions

by redfoot on Nov 24, 2011 7:54 PM CST reply actions
We can’t punt the ball 40 yards or throw it 30 yards. Makes it really easy for the other guys.
We finish last in a punt, pass. and kick contest. Finishing behind the 6 foot, 13 year old “girl” from Michigan wearing the oversized Packers jersey.

by Savage Henry on Nov 24, 2011 8:00 PM CST reply actions
The offensive line has been the main culprit so far. Every position on the O has been bad, but there hasn’t been one real hole and many tackles for loss.

by Monahorns on Nov 24, 2011 8:01 PM CST reply actions
I know I shouldn’t be excited about punting, but the good news is we have a much better chance of our defense scoring than our offense.
by Waterloomax on Nov 24, 2011 8:02 PM CST reply actions
Many of us were indifferent before the game, but after 5 3 and outs in 6 possessions, Ash has to get a shot. This is ridiculous! He can’t do any worse!

The sad thing is that this is the team we expected at the beginning of this season. I don’t think this was the team we were expecting at the end of the season. This offense has been going backwards all year except for a brief period of schadenfreude against a couple of the worse rushing defenses in college football. Oline looks like they did in the spring game. McCoy/Ash have improved 0% over the course of the year.
For all the complaints about how a Greg Davis offense is totally inept without a stud QB, please somebody tell me how this offense is any different?

Harsin has gotten 7 points, at A&M with a Wideout throwing the pass because GDGD recruited shit at the position. Does that clarify things?

As far as the offense goes, we’re paying for our past recruiting & development sins. A lot of these guys shouldn’t be on the field – they should be redshirting, playing behind some bad-asses. Throw in a handful of injuries and here we are. Lets give this staff a while to develop and recruit.

Harsin lets his QB control his fate. I bet he can develop a better QB with time, just saying he should be able to recognize this situation and do what he can to win this season.
That is exactly what he was doing with Fozzy, Brown and Bergeron. Hell that’s how we won the six games we have won.

I see a lot of people on this thread and consistently over the past 2 years trying to apportion blame for our offense between the various players and coaches. I have reached a point now that I have no idea how to spread the blame. How can I say how much is the QB or the WR or the OL? Harsin is supposed to be a great coach, and I can tell he is trying shit to see if it works. When it is this bad, though, how can you confidently say who is at fault.
At this point I think it is just time to lay it all on Mack. He is ultimately accountable. I have given up trying to decide which particular position group sucks the most.

Quit trashing the O line – they are doing just fine. When the aggies have ZERO concern about our passing game they can play 8 and 9 men in the box all night. The Green Bay Packers can’t run the ball against that!
Case McCoy doesn’t have the feet or the arm strength to win this game. We HAVE to put Ash in, like it or not, and add some running element to his ineffective passing.
The second half is when the aggies belly up – ONE of our damned receivers besides a crippled TE has got to be able to catch a football. Davis flat sucks tonight – get his ass off the field and find someone who wants to be a starter.

Anyone that thinks Mack should still be the coach at Texas is mistaken. If not for Vince Young, Mack would be nothing.
If he is such a “great recruiter,” then why couldn’t he ever recruit a QB to actually stay on his team rather than transfer.
It is a travesty that he makes over $5MM per year, and absolute travesty.
We will lose this game to A&M, and we will all be forced to listen to fucking aggie bullshit until we meet them again a decade from now.

Dear Deloss:
Fuck you for fiddling (with conference realignment, and a goddamn stupid TV network that no one can watch) while Texas football goes into a coma. In case you haven’t noticed, we’ve gone from national championship contender to hoping we can get a Pinstripe Bowl bid in about 22 months. Your head football coach started phoning it in in 2006, and has only belatedly realized that things like recruiting, coaching, and player development actually matter. We are going to become aggy’s bitch for the rest of time.
Fuck you. Please fire Mack and retire. You have allowed Texas football to return to the late 80s dark ages. Fuck you. Go away. Just go away. Fuck you.

Realistically, the LAST thing the Texas program needs is for Mack to go after this season. Read the threads from the past few days.
We have one of the best recruiting classes ever coming in next year, with a good possibility of it getting even better if we land a few key guys. We need the stability for at least the next year.
And give the new staff time to make their mark.

@srr50, there’s no need to be hostile with me, especially if you’re not going to actually read what I wrote. I never said anything about last year vs. this year. I said that our offense has shown no signs of improvement over the course of an entire season. THIS season. And the Oline/QBs specifically have shown no signs of improvement. Even if they are the wrong players, the lack of progress (from game 1 to game 10) is troubling.
I pay my dues like everyone else around here so I will not go away.

Can’t win with Case? Really?
Interesting that all of the sunshine pumpers want to “Fire Mack. Get rid of the coordinators! Going to bed. Rather wouldn’t watch the game!”
We are winning with Case. If you don’t like it…go suck on a bag of dicks. It is not pretty. He has had some bad throws. He has been on the ground all night. The jersey attests to it.
I love how I am a bad fan if I question the future of Ash as our QB based on his last previous starts. I still don’t know if he is the future. Case may be no more than a back up. But at least we are ahead. And if that makes me a shitty fan…I will just play strip poker with my friends…because at least they are happy that we are winning. Whether Ash sees the field or not.
So maybe, some of ya’ll are just Ash fans and not really fans of the team and what we are trying to do with what we have.

by Toadvine on Nov 24, 2011 10:04 PM CST reply actions
srr50,
Understood. I also understand that winning trumps stats. Period. What has Ash shown us in the last several games? Losses. Turnovers. No TD passes. I am sorry if my foul language upsets you. And for that I apologize. I am not a fan of Case as the future. But if Ash is the future, based on the very little that he has shown (3 TDs…8 INTS no TD passes in any of his starts), then I am concerned. I have a right to be as a fan. I am a Longhorn first. Not a player fan first. And from what I have seen posted by some on this forum, they would rather fire the staff than live with the eventuality that Ash is likely not at all what the “practice” reports imply that he is.
If you can show me any stats that give you confidence in his ability to lead this team and win a game in the future, I welcome them.
As an aside, Case has played very poorly tonite. I will grant you that. But if Ash is the starter next year…I am concerned. Period.
Point valid enough for you? Or should I bring up more stats of true freshmen who have played QB whose stats are not as god awful as Ash’s? If the O-line sucks for Ash, then it sucks for Case as well.
Or have you not seen the beating that Case has taken tonite?
Maybe the coordinators are calling better plays for Case than Ash?
Or maybe, just maybe, Ash is not the guy. If that bothers you, then perhaps, the problem is not mine.

Never said Case was my QB. If Ash is yours…then maybe that is the issue. They both play for Texas and I will root for them to win. But Ash is not good. And you can NOT show me any stats other than at belton high that prove otherwise…

By the way, the autocorrect looks for nearby letters on the keyboard. So ‘o’ is next to ‘p’, ‘k’ next to ‘k’, ‘a’ is ‘a’, etc.

The worst part of this field position is that after the safety we will have to trot Tucker out there to kick it 30 yards from the 20 yard line.

srr50,
If we win this game, I will jump around in your front yard in my birthday suit.
Square?
Part of the reason, I get pissed is when I hear all of this great stuff about Ash in practice and it doesn’t materlize on the field. I have also heard quite a bit about Case and his noodle arm and happy feet and dumbassedness. The point is the W-L ratio doesn’t square with what Ash “appears” to be showing in practice. This concerns me. It also concerns me about Brewer.
GG was the man. We told RGIII he could be a WR. He is a Heisman candidate (however illegitimate I think that award is). We wasted a year plus with him. He got hurt and transferred.
Ash is considered by a lot of people (not just the fans, but the UT recruiters and others) to be the one, just like GG. He is 3 TDs and 8 INTs…
Case is a backup…and while he has a lot to work on, at least he is taking a beating. A far cry from what some people believe was his unwillingness to get hit and go back into the game against OU. Case is doing the best he can. Ash should be at a far higher level…and has not shown that he can be up to this point.

by nobis60 on Nov 24, 2011 10:47 PM CST reply actions
Come on, guys, the punting is terrible but it is not as much to blame as the offense. We didn’t give up a block or a big return, and Tucker would have to punt 20 times if the offense was capable of even getting a few first downs, much less scoring. The punting game is bad, but the offense is one of the worst in all of college football.

I had mentioned to someone at work that I was hoping that we’d play like shit, ATM would blow a 10 point lead, and there would be some questionable call that would haunt the Aggies, and despite all that, we’d win.
Check, check, check, check.
I was actually hoping we’d miss the first FG attempt, but either they’d call the TO right before the attempt, or they’d be a questionable roughing call setting up the game winner.

I thought the penalty was legit. Davis actually slowed way up to try to avoid the defender. The Aggie was running with his head down where Davis would have been and the crown of his helmet hit Davis in the facemask. That’s a penalty.

Great win, fitting bitter end for the Aggies.
Defense and special teams won this pure and simple. We will never win a championship of any kind with Case McCoy at QB. Case made ONE play. His performance was simply awful, painful to watch, he is nearly talentless. We are flat out screwed for the forseeable future.

Again make it perfectly clear I have never been pro one QB at the expense of the other. I do believe that Ash has the better physical skills. But Case has proven that he protects the ball better, and when you have an offense that is limited to begin with, that is more important than ever.
I love how we won (Case karmically speaking for his brother and getting payback for “cart” Mccoy). He has sealed his space in Longhorn Lore.
I don’t know if Case is the long-term solution at QB and tonight I don’t care. He produced when it mattered tonight, so let’s celebrate and worry about the future on another day.

Glad to see the win, but let’s not kid ourselves. That game was won by A&M; we just had the higher score as time ran out. The inability of Texas to drive downfield was stunning in its perfect consistency until the last two minutes, and even then we’d have stalled without that personal foul.
Continue to think McCoy has moxie… and that’s it. Fortunately, A&M donated an open field to him at exactly the wrong time. Texas legend? Well, maybe. I don’t think he’ll start any games next year.

All of this sparring between fans, I think is miscommunication. Unless they are trolls. But like most I am concerned about the future at QB. I will, however say, that Case doesn’t lack guts. Which is why I question the “reports” about him not wanting to go back into a game because he didn’t want to get hit. His jersey tonite showed that he doesn’t lack guts nor fear hits. That one run was awesome. Stats were not good. lots of badly thrown balls and poor decisions. And lots of third down conversions lost. But at least after tonite, I don’t think anyone will question his toughness.
All I know, is tonite I think of my dad. And he would have enjoyed this. He would have. What a fitting end. To a rivalry, that meant more to the Aggies, in a way, than it did to us. RIP Dad!

Our offense looked awful for a long time and the refs tried to fuck us for the third week in a row…but all that is forgotten. In 2 or 5 or 7 years, at most only three things will be remembered: 1) An unnecessary helmet to helmet shot by A&M to revive an awful Texas offense, 2) a guy named McCoy scrambling and eluding tackles, holding the ball away from his body just far enough to cause cardiac arrest in Longhorn fans and a glimmer of hope of hope in Aggies before slamming it shut when they realize he made it to the 20 – the name McCoy will forever ring in the halls of College Station and haunt the grounds of that shithole campus like an evil ghost, and 3) a Texas kicker with ice water in his veins shoving a dagger in another opponent – God we’re blessed, just ask Bobby Bowden.
I hope you’re happy aTm. On one night you finally mattered to us and much as we’ve mattered to you for a century, and we crushed your spirits. Be gone and enjoy the SEC. Much like the Rose Bowl, Kyle Field now belongs to us too. Hook ’em!

If the Ags get rid of Sherman, they’re stupid. He’s the best recruiter they’ve ever had (assuming you disqualify Sherrill). His offensive schemes are plenty fine, his line development is great, and he understands the importance of good defensive coaching. Aggy just needs to realize that you don’t build Rome in a day. Getting some CBs and a QB who doesn’t choke every 3rd quarter should be a lot easier that finding an improvement over Sherm. Heck those players might already be on the roster because of him.

This staff would’ve beaten A&M last year. Would Ag’s expectations have been so big this year if we had taken them out? I think it fooled them into thinking they were better than they really are.
Turnovers were the only stat we dominated tonight . . . and no play bigger than Shipley laying on his back and sticking up a hand to prevent an INT.
As for the helmet to helmet call that has Aggies wanting to kill a ref . . . Kenny Vacarro says hi from Columbia, Missouri’s Faurot Field.

Their band…did the following according to ESPN:
COLLEGE STATION, Texas — If you were looking for the Longhorns and Aggies war of words to extend to the bands, halftime would have left you disappointed.
Texas’ band closed its halftime performance by playing “Thanks for the Memories” while forming a “Thanks aTm” message at midfield.
Texas A&M’s band followed by forming the Longhorns’ logo and then sawing off the horns as part of its formation.
Hardly anything headline worthy, but the halftime show was lacking in drama.

If he’d been targeting him he would’ve lit him up, he pulled up and glanced off his helmet. You know you’d be livid if the call went the other way in that situation.

I respect what you do on this site, and will admit that the call against you at the end was “questionable”, but fair when you look at the calls you got earlier in the game. A&M got more than its share of “questionable” calls early. Jesse Palmer even stopped looking into his hand mirror long enough to notice a few. The big XII refs suck and they have for years. I also want to say I enjoy your comments to the site and hope you continue.
As far as the penalty, I hate the general over-use of that call throughout football. However, it’s called all the time when it’s helmet on helmet, and sometimes when it’s not (on Vaccaro against Mizzou with a perfect form tackle). It’s even all over the NFL pissing me off frequently. So yeah, I don’t like the call, but it’s not abnormal in the state of the game right now.
And when it comes to Texas vs. SEC lucrative match-ups, I think Florida, Georgia, ‘Bama, LSU, and Arkansas are all better draws across the nation than an A&M with a lesser record. I’m not sure Aggie as a whole quite understands how irrelevant a sub 8 win record will make them in the SEC or trying to get a match-up against Texas in the future.
I’m certainly going to miss the Thanksgiving day game, but honestly haven’t cared much about it until tonight. And that’s mostly because I didn’t want to listen to Aggie try to claim ‘eternal scoreboard’ until we do meet again.

I for one saw the progress over the last two games, especially after Fozzy went down. The defense as anchor is a thrill given that the offense has more negative history to overcome. That we weren’t blown out by KSU by 3 TDs was a huge step. This team doesn’t quit. Unlike last year’s. We are on the way up. Way up.

And not for nothing, without intending to change the subject, Ndamunkah Suh is still a fucking douche bag.

A&M is now the best 6-6 team in college football. Congratulations aggies! You were only 22 points away from an undefeated season.

All posts by Aggy talking about officiating should be ignored. In fact, all their posts should be ignored. This is our SCOREBOARD FOREVER CELEBRATION THREAD and they don’t belong here anyway. They were never more than slightly relevant before and have never been more irrelevant than they are tonight. It’s all about us, boys and girls!
I ain’t got tickets but I’m hauling my ass to Waco on the 2nd. I hope to see some of you fine people up there while watching our defense shut down RGIII’s newly minted Heisman props.
I know this team has been frustrating to watch this year, but they have never quit at any time. This is one of the top performances by a Texas defense in my lifetime, all things considered. Kenny V, Byndum and Diggs are bona fide badasses. Special props to KV for the Fozzy salute. That’s called leadership. We have sorely missed it but it’s back.
God bless every player on this team. They will always have a special place in my heart for what they did tonight. 27-25 Forevah!

As much as my obsession with college football contributes to my wife’s buyer’s remorse, she always senses when it matters, she watches, and makes good observations. Like how our QB’s jersey resembled a finger painting by our 1 year old but that there was time to regain the lead at the end. I won’t be explaining to her anymore that Aggies don’t matter, but I will miss her annual head shake and question “what’s with Texas Arts & Military ?”

Anybody got some good desktop image material with aggy crying, gnashing teeth, kicking their ugly dog or something extremely humiliating?
I’ve gotta have it for my desktop!
Oh…and…SCOREBOARD!!!

After the last two weeks, how fun will it be to read Scipio’s and Longhorn Scott’s reviews of the game? What a great thriller of a game. I don’t care what Case McCoy does next year or next week, tonight he gutted out a fourth quarter drive that devastated the hopes of tens of thousands of yokels whose lives revolve around hating The University of Texas. Case’s scramble and Tucker’s kick redeemed a nightmarish game for the offense.
The defense made it all possible.
Damn fine night to be a Longhorn!
Oh, and spend whatever it takes to keep Manny Diaz at Texas. Brilliant choice by Mack.

“Questionable? Targeting another player’s head isn’t questionable. Your team lost and the excuses well is dry.
If he’d been targeting him he would’ve lit him up, he pulled up and glanced off his helmet. You know you’d be livid if the call went the other way in that situation."
ag96 — The call you mentioned is very ironic because bogus/borderline penalties against Texas played a huge role in UT’s losses to Missouri and KSU. At Mizzou, Kenny Vaccaro was flagged for a PF after he made a straight-up textbook tackle against the ball carrier that changed what would have been 4th and 4 into an automatic first down, which Mizzou subsequently scored on. (Kenny Vaccaro brings the wood better than anyone in the Texas secondary and if he had gone full bore, the Mizzou guy would have gotten his head taken off.) I thought the PF call on Texas for hitting Tannehill out of bounds was a pretty marginal call since Tannehill received the mildest of shoves, and the “horsecollar” penalty was similarly bogus/marginal. In any case, you’re an on-the-level Aggie poster here, and I know any loss is tough to swallow, so I guess the best thing to say is “good, hard-fought game by both teams”.

This reminds me of the episode in Oz where the whtitedude goes to Jail and Beecher protects him and he gets all uppity and then decides he is too cool for school and heads over to hang out with the Nazis and they turn him into a prison bitch.
I think you can work out where The Aggies fit into that.

Just re-watched the game on ESPNU and just have to reiterate that Craig James is the biggest douchebag on ESPN.
I was sick enough listening to his game-long meme on how the rivalry “had to be saved” and how “all of Texas and college football needed this.” And then there was this:
On the final drive, just after the illegal formation penalty put UT in a first and 15, old Pony Pay Me James comes up with this gem: “Here’s what I’ve got in my mind, and it’s in the minds of Longhorns and Aggies everywhere: Whatever the final score is, that team who loses will have to live with it for a LONG time.”
Clearly a set up. He was anticipating an Aggie win and rubbing it in the faces of Longhorn fans. Uh, didn’t work out so well, did it? Douchebag, Douchebag, Dick.
by AKHorn on Nov 25, 2011 2:20 AM CST reply actions
To add to AKHorn’s remarks, Craig James referred to the Longhorns as “Texas University” in one of his remarks at the end of the game. So yeah, I do believe his favorite drink is douche.

Great win, not because we be a really good team but because who it was and all the ancillary b.s. Nobody wanted to listen to aggy for who knows how many years. I couldn’t be more pleased what Diaz has done with the Defense. Will who? But the fact remains the offense is a cluster. I don’t blame Harsin but Mack who I have criticized for the first in his tenure on the 40 acres still has alot of work ahead to turn this ship around. That game could have easily been lost and we could be looking at 6-6 season. So the upside is 8-4. Those kind of years should only be happening every so often.

Just finished watching the game (my wife and I were with friends for dinner). Words can’t describe how exited I am for the win.
That having been said, a few thoughts.
(a) It’s pretty ridiculous to look over this thread and see Manny Diaz go from being the lord of heaven himself to the most despised demon of the underworld (after that last aTm touchdown), and then back to a deity after Tucker hits the field goal. Did Tucker’s field goal have any bearing on Diaz’s work? Of course not. So let’s be clear: even if we don’t score on that last drive, it would not be OK to call for Manny Diaz’s head because his defense gave up the (would be) winning TD in the last two minutes of the game. Overall, they played a great game, and I agree some some of the other posters here who have noted that the D was most likely just plain worn out due to above-average playing time, which was itself due to the minimal time of possession enjoyed by our offense.
(b) Case did more than just run for 32 yards on one play. I’m not sure some of you realize what it takes to manage an offense under those conditions (environment, time, etc.). Plus, he made a few good throws that were crucial to the drive. Obviously Case most likely doesn’t have the athleticism and the arm to be “the guy” for UT, but I will be forever thankful for his play tonight.

Texas had the ball for just under 31 minutes, ags had it for just over 29 minutes, so Texas actually won time of possession even though the ags had 22 first downs to only 12 for Texas.

Instead of whining on this board, all Texas fans should complain to ESPN in any form possible about Craig James. They get enough and maybe they will do something about it.
Certain announcers I just don’t tolerate. I will either turn off the sound and grab a radio and turn on Craig Way or just turn off the sound altogether.
Nobody on ESPN or ABC or anywhere else should be so biased as Craig James or Brent Mussburger. I’m not an SEC fan but you don’t see that garbage going on with the SEC announcers on CBS.

I do not covet Tannehill’s fiance… that bitch looks about as high maintenance and shallow and stupid as they come and just about exactly what I would picture the Aggies’ senior quarterback being engaged to.
In 20 years when he’s a shop manager in Pearland, his home life is going to be miserable.

Watched the game with wife and kids, including my wannabe-QB-for-Texas-when-he-grows-up 9-year-old son. When ESPN camera crew worked up hard-ons for Tannyhill’s girlfriend, I wanted my son to know, for additional motivation, the additional rewards that go to the BMOC and to keep working hard on his game. But then I remembered that he doesn’t yet understand girls — and more importantly that I was still hoping to get friendly with the wife later, — so a golden opportunity missed.
Thank goodness our safeties whiffed on tackling Fuller on the last TD, leaving us with enough time to march downfield for the game-winning FG.
Thank goodness Tucker has major-league stones.
Thank goodness for Manny, Bo and Duane.
Thank goodness for leadership demonstrated by Kenny V., Mason, and the seniors on D.
Loved ESPN camera showing Case and Mason yucking it up together after the game.
Will forever have the memory, waiting for Tucker’s final kick, of my 9-year-old insisting that our family kneel and hold hands like the UT players on the sidelines. (We obliged.)

My Big Fat Big Bend Thanksgiving Big Bender has mostly worn off. Kids and grandkids off to Terlingua to sleep under the stars and continue to be thankful, for each other, for where we live, for so many things, not least of all the difference between Justin Tucker’s punting and place-kicking skills.
I am also thankful that, although we doubtless will be treated to agyness in all its forms, the sheer volume of agytude will most likely decrease to a bearable level, and we will not be inundated until agy defeats arky, bama, and the bayou bengals in a single season, and that accomplishment is not likely to happen anytime soon.

True, Kafka. Although we did have a slight edge in play clock time-of-possession, remember that A&M had as many pass incompletions — 29 — as we had pass attempts; they threw the ball 49 times. I am pretty sure that our Defense was on the field in actual time a lot longer than the A&M defense.
