Adjusted Stats through 11/26/11
Adjusted stats and ratings have been updated through yesterday's games. LSU remains in the #1 spot of my EWP ratings with Alabama holding at #2. Stanford, Oregon, and Oklahoma State round out the Top 5 with the Sooners just behind the Cowboys.
Texas moves up to #18 with the dramatic win over A&M. The analyzer gives Texas a 52% chance of winning at Baylor next week. Checking out the Texas team page, the Texas defense is now a Top 5 unit on the season overall.

Diaz has this D humming now. Should improve again against Baylor…I am actually confident we can contain RG3 and even force him to make mistakes. Have a feeling that he will run it a few times and stop after he realizes he will be hit hard and often.
Diaz has earned his paycheck and then some! Best part is we were worried about the youth and scheme and now it seems like a perfect fit.

I am actually a bit torn as to what I want to happen next week…
I’d much rather us play Cal in the Holiday Bowl than a tainted Penn State in the Insight Bowl, but I also really want this victory over Baylor…
I guess the half-full take is that I’ll be happy regardless of next week’s outcome.

RGIII has scared me all season. After watching this D the past month and remembering what Manny did to Cam Newton and Denard Robinson, I’m more confident.
Give the man a raise.

RGIII and Baylor will be coming into this game beat up. Granted, they will be at home which makes a huge difference.
IMO, RGIII makes quite a bit of hit plays by running around Tony Romo style which allows his receivers to break open far down field. I may be a homer but I just don’t see the speed of this Texas defense allowing RGIII to scramble for 10 seconds at a time.

Ty, you ever been to a Texas game in Waco? It is a home game in name only. More likely a neutral site environment.

I understand that this is a better Baylor offense with a better supporting cast, but Griffin didn’t give us too much trouble in 2008 or 2010. Our ends have gotten some great practice in dealing with mobile QB’s and Diaz seems to have a loaded bag of tricks for dealing with running games of all kinds, including those with running QB’s.
When you see KSU or A&M spreading out the defense and still being unsure of what the coverage and assignments will be, that’s pretty impressive.

Houston’s defense has gone from abysmal to merely mediocre in terms of adjusted stats. They may not be Colt Brennan-era Hawaii redux after all.
