In related news, Naaman Forest senior guard DeMarcus Holland reportedly has a committable offer from the Texas coaching staff. Holland, who is teammates with Longhorns signee Prince Ibeh, is scheduled to take his official visit to Austin this weekend, and all signs point to him committing.
We'll have more on Brown's departure after it becomes official. No doubt, it's disappointing news for one of the most improved Horns under Rick Barnes' tenure. Brown could have really shined his senior season, and would have been considered a frontrunner for the Big 12 Player of the Year honors. However, Brown's departure does hand the reins of the team fully to point guard Myck Kabongo, who announced last week he will return to Austin for his sophomore season.
