2014 power forward Khadeem Lattin, a four star big man from Houston, committed to the Oklahoma Sooners over the Texas Longhorns today. The news was first reported by ESPN's Reggie Rankin, who is dialed in to Texas recruiting for the WWL.
Breaking News: ESPN 100 PF/C Khadeem Lattin has informed me he has committed to Oklahoma over finalist Texas and UCLA— Reggie Rankin (@ReggieRankin) October 24, 2013
Lattin only recently expressed interest in Texas. He had taken a couple of unofficial visits following the hiring of former Longhorn Jai Lucas to the Longhorns' staff. Lucas is the son of former NBA star John Lucas, a prominent figure in Houston's high school hoops scene.
With Lattin off the board, Myles Turner is the only other prospect Texas is actively recruiting. Turner had been scheduled to take an official visit to Texas this weekend. However, the latest news had Turner traveling to Houston instead to meet with Lucas the elder.
The Longhorns currently have one 2014 commitment, Jordan Barnett. Barnett is a borderline Top 100 wing from St. Louis.
