Interesting note about UT basketball for tonight's opener

After reading Mike Finger's article this morning, one thing stuck out to me more than anything else:

But Holland said he thinks UT will be better because it has multiple players who can share the scoring burden. Felix, who will move from point guard to shooting guard this season, is UT's top returning scorer at 6.8 points per game. But the Longhorns are expecting better production from Holland, Connor Lammert and Cameron Ridley.

That sounds to me like Isaiah Taylor has won the starting PG role out of the gate, which is interesting to say the least. It could mean any number of things; he could've significantly outperformed Javan Felix in preseason, Rick Barnes could be going with potential & youth over experience, or Barnes could just be throwing everything against the wall in an attempt to salvage his job. Or maybe a combination of all three...regardless, it's an interesting change in how the Texas Longhorns will start the season off against Mercer tonight.

Be excellent to each other.
