Texas Longhorns Will Face Oregon Ducks in Alamo Bowl

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

It's official.  The 8-4 Longhorns will take on the 10-2 Oregon Ducks in San Antonio in a contest whose name capably evokes merciless slaughter.  Nothing says successful four year rebuild like 8-5.

Here are the details

Texas vs. Oregon, Dec 30th, 6:45 pm, ESPN

Will it be an emotional Longhorn team and fanbase looking to send Mack Brown out a winner or an irritated crowd eager to let Brown know their feelings on his return in 2014 if the Horns fall behind?  Mack Brown gets to decide.

We'll be previewing Oregon for you soon enough, but it's a terrible matchup if the Ducks decide that they want to be there.  Oregon was passed over by the Sugar and Orange Bowls and I'll be curious to see if that's motivation or disincentive.
