USA Today 2014 Ranking of College Football Coaches Salaries

Granted, we all know that there really isn't an accurate way to compile this type of list as I don't know of a private school out there that will truly release the accurate numbers it pays its head coach let alone the total compensation package and there is normally a variety of perks that aren't reflected in the numbers listed by USA Today.

I always find it interesting who pops up somewhat unexpected on the list. No one is shocked about Nick Saban's comp, but how many people realized that Mark Dantonio was getting paid $5.6M?

You can debate if you want if coaches deserve to be paid at this level, how that correlates to players getting paid, etc...but there is no debate that one of the smartest people in football has to be Neil Cornrich. How else can you explain his client Kirk Ferentz being paid $4.0 M+ despite having not won a conference title in 10 years, not finished ranked in 5 years, has won only 55% of his games at Iowa and having a losing record against Iowa State.

Comparatively I think TCU gets good value from Gary's $4.0M+ and David Baliff at Rice might want to give Neil a call if he takes them to their third straight bowl for the first time ever.

Charlie Weis with another type of double dipping.

Be excellent to each other.
