The Texas non-conference basketball schedule is just about set, and again it is a mixture of heavyweights and lightweights -- heavy on the lightweights at home.
The Longhorns, returning its entire lineup (and hopefully adding 5-star recruit Myles Turner sometime this month) will play UConn Sunday November 30th.
Stanford will be in Austin right before Christmas (Dec. 23rd).
Texas will open up the season in the 2K Sports Classic benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project. The Horns will play two (easy) regional opponents in mid-November and then head to New York and Madison Square Garden to fill out a field including Iowa, Cal and Syracuse.
Texas could have another "name" opponent in the Erwin Center. Their opponent and site for the annual Big12/SEC Challenge has yet to be determined. That game should be in early December.
The early non-conference home schedule is filled out with the likes of UTA, St. Francis (PA), Lipsomb, Long Beach State and Rice.
