I’ve maintained for years that real reason d1 football will never see a true playoff is in large part because of the buttraping the NCAA gives the 65 colleges involved in March Madness every year. See bowl games go to individual schools and confrences, whereas a singular playoff sees all that cash money head straight to the NCAA coffers. Why would any big time university agree to such a deal?
