It’s time.
Food tastes better, the suns shines brighter, and irritability to slights are magnified one thousandfold. Both fanbases - despite any degree of outward confidence - will be nursing ulcers by Wednesday. Over the next six days, I will mentally review scenarios in which Texas is blown out, we blow OU out, we […]

This is the segment in which a cattle gun is placed against my head by Anton Chigurh and I’m told to call it. I have to pick every game, even the ones I feel aren’t subject for righteous divination. I’m much better at picking winners than handicapping, but Anton has no pity. […]

Injured Sooner DT Demarcus Granger might begin practicing as early as Monday.
“The reports to this point are positive,” Bob Stoops said.

ESPN is reporting that DeMarcus Granger is out for at least four weeks. That means he is out for the Red River Shootout. He is potentially out for the season. That sucks for Granger and OU given the way it happened, but good for the Longhorn’s chances of victory.

From the New York Times’ Pete Thamel:
“There are only two locker rooms I’d ever seen where the players were devastated.

The Kansas City Star has a list of the worst fires and best hires in the Big 12 since the conference formed.
Worst Firings
1. R.C. Slocum, Texas A&M, 2002
Probably. Blame Mack Brown for taking over the recruiting rackets, but the writing was on the wall since Texas won in College Station in ‘95. The Aggies […]

In 2008, Bob Stoops will attempt to win his fourteenth Big 12 Title in ten years and that’s reassuring to a fan base resigned to the notion that their life’s achievements will always best be realized vicariously. Sooner Nation citizenship is more precious than a man’s best acid-washed girbauds, lax child support laws, and […]
