I’d like to thank everyone for coming, we’ve had some time to look at guys in organized drills and process some of things we were able to do in the draft and free agency, and we feel pretty good about where we are as a football team right now. Vince will be available a little […]

Every year I make a list of the players drafted by the NFL who played their high school ball in Texas. I do it to see which players realized their potential in college and which players that flew under the radar ended up being given a chance to play pro football. So here’s this year’s […]

The Big 12 had its worse draft ever. Even Mike Reinfeldt and Jeff Fisher think so. It took 36 selections before the second Big 12 player was drafted. This is from a conference with four of Top 10 in the final AP rankings. Pathetic.
Powerhouse programs like Troy, Vanderbilt, Delaware, and Tennessee […]

Seriously, Jeff? Another running back?
The Titans came into this draft knowing they needed a playmaker at wide receiver. Someone who can actually get separation from the defender in man coverage. Someone who can actually get open deep.
Instead they went for yet another running back because that’s all Jeff Fisher knows. Conservative offense. Run […]

With the 2008 NFL draft is coming up later this month, here is a look back at the first eight drafts of this decade, and what collegiate teams were perceived by the NFL to have the deepest talent pools to draw from.

Marcus Griffin - 4.57
Robert Killibrew - 4.54
Frank Okam - 5.23
Limas Sweed - 4.44
Scott Derry - 4.88
The Statesman says Brandon Foster ran a 4.28.
Finley and Foster really helped themselves. Finley […]

If the NFL is a job, then the NFL Scouting Combine is a job interview. But unlike other job interviews, you already know the questions. You know you’re going to have to run the 40, test your vertical leap and see how many bench reps you can do with 225 pounds. So you can prepare […]

So you want to win a MNC? One thing we’ve learned the last few years is that you need lots and lots of NFL talent to win a MNC. The 2005 Texas team was loaded with future pros up and down the roster, everywhere except LB. Our 2005 nickel back, Aaron Ross, […]

Official combine list.
Jammal Charles, Jermichael Finley, Marcus Griffin, Tony Hills, Frank Okam, Billy Pittman and Limas Sweed.
No Derek Lokey. When he graduates from law school, his first case should be suing the combine for this oversight.
Aside from Charles, I don’t think any of our players will blow the scouts away with their workout numbers.
