There has always been an arms race in college athletics when it comes to facilities. Your rival builds an indoor practice facility so you raise the money and build one a short time later. This goes on an on until the losing school’s coach falls out of power and is exhiled to Siberia. Or Purdue.
“Mr. […]

Sean Sutton has been fired by Oklahoma State. He violated his contract’s ‘no sweat’ clause or something.
Most people saw this coming the day he was hired, and his Wikipedia entry has already been updated. The guy was in over his head.
He’ll now find an assistant’s job somewhere or become the spokesperson for Mitchum Deodorant.

Tate Forcier is a high school quarterback in California who is being recruited from coast to coast. His family has a website, and on it he put the actual letters he has received from colleges offering scholarships.
We’ll suspend disbelief at this point and pretend that college coaches actually write their own letters. It will […]

So who said it was difficult to beat a team 3 times in one season? Whoever it was the Longhorns weren’t listening. In a ho-hum workmanlike fashion the top seeded Texas Longhorns controlled and finally finished off the OSU Cowboys 66-59 to advance to the semifinals of the Big 12 tournament. The […]

Second half coming up. First half was pretty much what you’d expect from Texas-OSU.
Texas stats: 11-22 from the field (6-11 from 3), 4-7 from the line, 11 rebounds (1 offensive); OSU stats: 12-28 from the field (4-13 from 3), 5-11 from the line, 17 rebounds (8 offensive).
Going by those lines, I suppose I should […]

It’s tough to find fault with a win that gave the Horns their third conference title in the Rick Barnes’ era but the Horns’ limping across the finish line Sunday afternoon should be cause for concern. I know, any kind of win is alright, but the last three offensive outings for the Longhorns […]

Gallagher Iba arena is one of the toughest places to play in America and the Horns came away with the win. Oh yeah, and our defense was absolutely stellar. That’s the good news. The bad news is we continue to see dog shit offense lacking any inside presence or any continuity to […]

At least when it comes to handing out awards at their football banquet.
They only gave out eight total awards. To children! Shit, Texas had nine guys win just the Frank Medina Rehabilitation Award sponsored by Pacificare.
Just wait until Bobby Reid’s mom finds out her son didn’t win anything.
Oklahoma State better step it up if […]

Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Larry Fedora is expected to be named the head coach at Southern Miss as early as today. ESPN is reporting it with the usual ’source close to the situation.’
Fedora is a good coach. Of children!
Baylor coach Art Briles hired Penn State safeties coach Brian Norwood as his new defensive coordinator. They […]
