The San Antonio Warren DT committed to Texas today. Big get for Texas at a need position. Howell has offers from OU, LSU, Nebraska and Tennessee among others.
No game footage that we can steal (yet), but here is some grainy footage of “MY NIGGA CALVIN AKA “BIG C” BREAKS SCHOOL RECORD 405LBS WHICH WAS PREVIOUSLY […]

So Chip Brown of the Dallas Morning News said on his radio show yesterday something to the effect of ‘John Mackovic’s best players would be Mack Brown’s best players.’
Now I didn’t listen to the show because I think people who listen to sports radio are even more despicable than people who read blogs. Except the […]

Mack Brown is getting a chair endowed in his name. The University of Texas is going to endow the Mack Brown Distinguished Chair for Leadership in Global Affairs to be part of the university’s Robert S. Strauss Center for International Security and Law.
Global Affairs? Dude doesn’t even recruit out of state. Why not the […]

Former Texas running back Cedric Benson got himself arrested on Lake Travis last Saturday. He was charged with operating a boat while intoxicated and resisting arrest.
An LCRA officer performing a routine safety inspection found an intoxicated Benson driving the boat and not wearing a life jacket. Dumb.
Looks drunk to me.
The arresting officer reported that […]

Longhorn junior Ken Kasparek pitched a no hitter tonight against Texas State.
The junior righthander struck out nine and only allowed one batter to reach base.
It was the 20th no hitter in Texas baseball history, and the first since Adrian Alaniz no hit Oklahoma in 2005.

The Big 12 had its worse draft ever. Even Mike Reinfeldt and Jeff Fisher think so. It took 36 selections before the second Big 12 player was drafted. This is from a conference with four of Top 10 in the final AP rankings. Pathetic.
Powerhouse programs like Troy, Vanderbilt, Delaware, and Tennessee […]

And so we have officially entered the “Dead Zone” of the sports year. Spring football ended a couple of weeks back for the only program we care about. College basketball ended for our guys on the same day, after one of the most successful seasons a Longhorn roundball team has experienced. The baseball team is […]

There was a brief spat between Stones and Beatles fans in some dark corner of the web where nerds go to feed on the inferiority of the people who disagree with them. You know, that dark corner that makes up 95% of the internet.

It won’t be announced until later, but Skip Johnson’s job as pitching coach at The University of Texas ended yesterday in Missouri. You don’t give up a school record 31 runs and survive. You just don’t.
Some perspective is in order. In twenty games against the Missouri football team, the Longhorns have only given up more […]

The Daily Texan sports blog has reported that Texas quarterback John Chiles is a suspect in an assault-by-conduct (slapping a woman) that the Austin Police Department is currently investigating. And by ‘currently investigating’ they mean the detective working the case probably won’t even look at it until sometime next week.
The police report said the incident […]
