FWIW, the mastermind of the 1-10 defense was Carl Torbush, not Gary Darnell. We ran that during the 2005 game, I believe. I think the rationale was that we couldn’t cover shit anyway that season, might as well throw something out there that they’d never seen before, it can’t get any worse. Red Cover 7 sure as hell wasn’t working.

Darnell’s answer to a spread offense was to go to a 33 Stack, with a DE playing Mike.

Update: RB Kobey Lewis along with S Steven Harris have since been kicked off the team, so look for Baron Batch and Shannon Woods to take over his situational touches.

Leach had this to say about the incident, “They were a couple of self-involved, bullshit artists, who got caught cheating on departmental exams.”

They are expected to ship to Afghanistan within the next 30 days.

I haven’t re-read this until now and the editing was getting to me towards the end. After looking over it, I can’t believe I botched “rabid chupacabra” with “rapid chupacabra”. That ruined everything for me.

I see that The Pirate and his two offensive stars will grace the cover of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Magazine. If they can stay healthy and the defense improves, look out!

I’ll be interested to see how Muschamp attacks them. He ain’t seen nuthin’ like this in the SEC.
