Bob Stoops likes a challenge

Stoops met with the media yesterday and offered his thoughts on OU’s schedule.

“Schedule-wise, we have a challenging non-conference, which is as exciting as it is challenging and our guys realize that they are going have to be able to play early. The Big 12 schedule is what it is. I don’t ever think from one year to the other that it is more difficult or any easier. It is challenging and we have a lot of good football teams in the league and I think there are five in the top 14. There are a lot of good football teams, so it will be as challenging as it always is.”

Unfortunately for us, Stoops usually meets the conference challenge, challenging as it is.

If Coach Stoops thinks the league is challenging now, just wait until we spring the double-secret McCoy/Chiles package on the Sooners. When Bob sees that, it will be a challenge for him not to shit his pants in fear.

Mack Brown tells me that nothing is more challenging that having two — TWO! — teams named the Owls on your schedule. Toughest. Schedule. Ever.

A “challenging” non-conference schedule for the gooners? LOL

Playing a Pac-10 team on the road seemed like a good idea at the time …

“A “challenging” non-conference schedule for the gooners? LOL”

    Aug. 30 Florida Atlantic
    Sept. 6 at UTEP
    Sept. 13 Arkansas
    Sept. 20 Rice

Scheduling smack? Really? I’m not saying OU’s is any better (Tenn-Chat? WTF?), but let’s not get carried away.

“Playing a Pac-10 team on the road seemed like a good idea at the time …”

    (sigh)…so true.

Yeah, our OOC schedule isn’t particularly robust. We make up for it in the conference slate. OU’s conference slate is very friendly.

UT is getting Ark. at the best time. No elite talent and the coach hasnt had a time to recruit for his system.

Similarly, OU better pray that Cincy’s QB remains off the field.
