I just don't see how anyone could run consistently against that Georgia D, especially if they do not have a complementary pass game. If Bama can do that, then they have one hell of an offensive line. But the problem for Georgia would be their O-Line and whether they will not get manhandled by a very physical Bama D-line. In order for Georgia to win, Stafford is going to have to play a very good game. I do not think that Georgia will be able to run on Bama, so Moreno probably will not be much of a direct factor. The game will be in Stafford's hands. If he does not play up to snuff, then I think that Bama probably takes this one.

I don't think anyone's suggesting Bama is a long shot to win this game. I expect it to be a very tough, physical game on both sides. It remains to be seen if they can really move the ball on the ground all day against the Georgia D though.

This weekend was the first I've seen of Pryor. (I don't follow recruiting and I missed the USC-tOSU game.)

Holy shit, that guy is big! He may be the first "next Vince Young" who is in any way shape or form worthy of the comparison.

lowery21 is right, SC only scored two TDs on Wofford. SC is miserable on offense and good, not great on D. Bama isn’t a prolific offense, but they will move the ball on the ground with three fresh backs all day. Bama isn’t a long shot to win this.

It's amazing it took until three games into Septeber for Tressel to realize that Pryor should be his QB over a guy who likely would be hard pressed to be the starting QB for Sigma Chi in the Intramural touch football league. I chalk it up to the anal retentive nature of most college football coaches who for the most part will opt for a "game manager" at QB rather than a playmaker if given the choice. Keeps them in control and not the player. Tressel will just have to exert his control in other ways such as plays lifted from the Woody Hayes 1975 OSU playbook.

If Briles uses Griffin the way he should and builds an offense around him, the coach may get some good defensive players despite himself. Recruits want a winning program and they want exposure so that they can hopefully get to the next level. Briles may be able to supply both...eventually.

mdr, I think you are going to be unpleasently surprised this weekend. You can think of Bama as SC with an offense.
