Greg Schiano prefers track suits to sweatshirts

Michigan is 0-2 in their head coaching search. After being turned down by LSU coach Les Miles last week, they’ve now been rejected by Rutgers coach Greg Schiano.

Schiano apparently agreed to the job on Wednesday but had a change of heart. I’m guessing some Rutgers alumni told him either his signature or his brains would be on his Rutgers contract.

To be fair Schiano is a Rutgers native, and he has resurrected that program. But you don’t turn down Michigan for Rutgers.

Michigan will now turn their attention to Greg Davis.

I hear “sleeping with the fishes” did enter into the conversation with the locals in Jersey.

Schiano already knows from his time in Miami that you can’t get good Italian bread outside of NY/NJ, so why leave the Garden State?

Ohio State fans belly laughing at all of this may end up getting a splash of cold water when Michigan lucks in to hiring a Harbaugh, Tedford or Brian Kelly.

The Michigan AD needs to wake up and use only one standard for hiring the next HC. Who will wake up each and every day thinking about kicking Tressel-von-cheaty-Vest’s ass?

I’m not sure Schiano, Miles or Farentz fit that description.

Man, watching some of these programs flounder in their coaching search is definitely an eye-opener.

Greg Schiano turned down Michigan for Penn State, which will happen in another year or two. The Jersey boys will still be pleased.

His obesity would be an asset in the cold weather.

Shouldn’t there be scare quotes around “Rutgers alumni”—real scare quotes?

Not sure one needs a degree to be a “Made guy”!

If Michigan’s sites were set on Les Miles and Greg Schiano, I think we can see why they’re having a hard time filling the job.

    Leave the coach.

    Take the cannoli.
