Inning By Inning

Inning By Inning is a documentary about Texas baseball coach Augie Garrido, and it’s outstanding. I saw the premier at the Paramount Theater in Austin a few weeks ago with the rest of the the cool kids. The director is Austinite Richard Linklater, and I’m pretty sure he did it as a sort of atonement for introducing the rest of America to Matthew McConaughey.

Still not enough, Richard.

You can see that Augie deserves his reputation as a Zen master, but the guy can certainly chew ass with the best of them. You get to see how his childhood shaped him, and just what he does to get the best out of his players. It’s really a great documentary.

Anyway, here are the replay times.
