UT can pretty easily provide proof since these things are easily traced. Each post, each email, each order of the classic 6-page pamphlet “History’s Most Ethical OU Coaches” from amazon.com leaves its own unique trail of slime on the cardboard tube connected to the back of your computer. All UT had to do was unplug the cardboard tubes in its computing department, check them for the unique green/brown tint of “Internet Hoax”, and finding none, report their findings.

So, UT asked the computing services department, which James W. Conradt managed, if he did it on company time with company equipment. Shocked at the answer.

Again, it’s because this has actually happened before. That’s not a knock on the character of Sam Bradford and Landry Jones, who are good guys by all accounts. It’s just that we’ve actually had a starting QB busted for dealing cocaine before. Charles Thompson, anyone? Once it’s actually happened, it’s hard to call it ridiculous.

That’s not to say that the whole thing isn’t being overblown. It is. I’m just saying when your starting QB was featured on the cover of SI in shackles, you have to play things a little differently.
